Maybe we can remake the idea with some derivation from the vnet96 for CPC, and a RaspberryPi, with an adaptation of the Vnet96 to it's GPIO, a network driver fot sharing a folder and a ROM for filesystem abstraction.

For C64 serial transfers for disc operations just worked, so why not with raspberry+vnet96...

difficult to say, but when I read it I think Amstrad PC.

Here is  a january 1985 arcticle (in french) about Nothern Computer network/storage solution.
Last paragraph talk about the 1st try with .... 10+8 CPC464 on two sites 1km appart connected via a radio link, sharing two 10mb HD.

We always forgot that most stuff possible on computer were already possible in the 70's...


So yeah, networking was working, but only for the working machines, not home machines...




Still a good internet solution and CPC specific (or even 8bit machines specific) servers would be cool.


Forums, chat, imageboards, online games, MMORPGs and so on...




Perhaps getting the Thomson's Nanoréseaux working on CPC ?
