Hi,
I have access to the following FDCs for testing (these are in my cpcs):

NEC D765AC with FDC92298T separator
Zilog Z7065A with SED9420 separator
NEC D765AC-2 with FDC9216 separator
Zilog Z765APS with SED9420C separator
NEC D765AC-2 with SED9420C separator
EDIT: My CPC with type 1 has a UM8272 with SED9420C separator :)

I believe I have already found some differences comparing Z7065A and D765AC-2 on my tests. (Differences with the C,H,R,N result data when reading an unformatted track using read id and differences on the handling of 'interrupts' i.e. seek end then ready change then sense interrupt status - it is a matter of if the "new" cause of interrupt overrides the "old" or not).

Does anyone have any other compatible FDCs in their CPCs (e.g. UM8272, Intel 8272)? It would be great if you would run some tests for me. The mainboard versions shows a 6128 with a UM8272.

Also, I have found some very small differences between 8255s. I have access to:

8255 emulated in Plus
TOSHIBA TMP8255AP-5
NEC D8255AC-5

Does anyone have any different ones? There may be others from Intel and Zilog.

Thanks!

I have a few FDC9266 here which is a µ765 with the seperate integrated into the chip. Unfortunately I don't have an easy way to test them.

I probably have some others somewhere, but all my repair stock are NECs.

I really wanted to test FDCs that are already inside CPCs or ones that have been put in to repair them. The FDC9266 is not really one I was thinking of. The test programs run on CPC.

I opened up my crtc type 1 and found it has an UM8272. :)
Good news! :)

I wonder if there are any other FDCs used by Amstrad?
