Was considering a purchase but thought I'd ask for your opinions first. (postage seems rather high at £101 to post from France to UK - for that price I'd consider catching a ferry and driving to pick it up myself in person!)

thanks

steve

The postage seems like a rip-off to me, I would not buy it.

Hello,

Of course that's not an official cartridge. Absolutely no interest and quite expensive (you can buy at least two CPC6128+ in France with this amount of money.

Is that a joke or what?  This ebay user is obviously just going after big profit. How can the delivery be 101 pounds? Maybe he's delivering the cartridge in a private helicopter or something  . It's indeed a total rip-off

Gryzor

Postage was most probably wrong - I see 10 quid there.

Still, of course it's a fake, though I'd really love to get that system test module... anyone got it?

Bryce

From a hardware point of view it's probably my Multi-Cartridge design with the ACID and the EPROM soldered in, but I don't see the DIP switches and he doesn't say how to switch from one ROM to the other. Either way, 50 quid is a joke, you can make it yourself (if you have an ACID) for less than 10 quid: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Multi_Cartridge

The postage may have been a mistake or it may have been deliberate, whatever the case, the buyer will have to pay it unless the seller corrects the "mistake", I recently saw a PC case on ebay where the postage was £1500, I contacted the seller who said it was a mistake and reduced it to £15, BUT the postage cost makes up part of the contractual obligation and if you bid on an item, you are required to pay the postage, mistake or not.

You can get it here: http://www.cpctech.org.uk/download/rp11src.zip . The CPR image is in the BIN folder.

Worth noting here that the one on the WinApe website is buggy and doesn't work.

Gryzor

Great, I'll play with it. Thanks :)

I think maybe we could report that auction since the seller says it's a brand new item etc etc, when it's clear that it's no product nor new - it's homebrew.

WTF ???

also the rating seem to be part of the scam lol...

The best you should do is buying a cheap Burnin' Rubber GX4000 version and change the Rom yourself...

Gryzor

Darn, I went to report it and someone had already bought it... better watch the seller...

Bryce

Yeah, I have my very own 4in1 Cartridge now and it only cost me 151 quid !!! :D NOT.

Interesting: The CPR from the WinApe website works fine for me. Also the "DMA sound test" with keyboard test while music is playing.
The CPR from CPCTech fails here. (No keyboard test, just music)

Could it be that the one version has been tweaked for Emulator test usage? That might explain why one seems dodgy on real hardware but works fine on the emulator.

That's weird, I had similar issues but the other way round.

Will need to test them both on my real Plus.
