Hello all,
It's been an absolute age since I showed my face round here - sorry about that.

I've had a few projects on the boil but sadly can't afford to actually make / test them so I thought I'd post them all here in case anyone wants to run with any of them.

#1) 8255IDE_CPC and 8255IDE_Z80

For the longest time I wanted a simple & effective IDE solution for my CPC, and maybe other Z80-based machines too. Sadly as I can't code for toffee and can't be bothered to learn that means either using a preexisting project of making something that could use available drivers.
Yarek's 8255-based IDE solution would seem perfect but he seems more illusive than me and as far as I'm aware his schematics aren't available. Never mind, there seems to be enough info to hopefully know how the driver software is supposed to interact with his interface so I reverse-engineered the hardware. There's two versions; one to plug in to the CPC expansion port and one to fit a Z80 socket to allow use in other Z80 machines... assuming there's drivers.

Quite untested so use at your discretion.

All the best,
Charlie

Got this 8255 IDE board from Yarek, it's the quickest alternative for CPCs.  :)

Charlie,
I have already created these and have a few of them available and have HDOS to allow their use via basic.

As for emulators, i have not seen any make use of it.But my software HDOS has driver support for SymbiFace-II, X-MASS and can be expanded to include more devices.

Yarek also provides a DOS for his IDE card.

Hello all,
Thanks for the interest and kind words chaps. :-)

It should be said I came up with this interface for my own interest and use. I went for something that would be supported by existing drivers as I'm no good @ coding and a take on Yarek's solution seemed like choice to me. Assuming I've made no mistakes I would expect anything that supports Yarek's design should support this too as I intended it to function the same.

I'm sharing as others may find it useful too, especially as I'm not aware Yarek is around, but PLEASE note this design is wholly untested and as I'm short of funds is unlikely to be made by me.

I do hope it proves to be a useful basis for someone to have some fun.

All the best,
C.
Charlie.
