Title: CPC464 Tape Mechanism Part Identification Help
Post by: simondo on 17:37, 22 July 15
Hi

I recently dismantled my CPC464 for a keyboard problem which is now solved however this part fell out:

Does anyone know what is is and where it came from.

Thanks.

That's the pause key latch main piece (21 on the service manual).
There is a big chance that the bit that kept it in place broke.
I've a tape drive with the same issue.

Thanks Gerald. Found it in service manual thanks to your help.

I think your right with regard to components that keep it in place. Not a major issue, and not too bad for this component and tape counter to be the only casualties after 25 years ownership and several house moves.

Good news! Found the spring an plastic pin for for the pause mechanism. They fell out whilst cleaning the rest of the 464. Doesn't want to stay in when I fit it back so a dab of superglue will help.
