So now that I lost my job I'm back at home and it's time to fire up that 464 Plus I got a couple of years ago  :picard:

I will make an adapter to use it with my CTM644, but are the AMPs enough for this?

Also can I load carts with my M4WIFI?

Thanks and happy holidays everybody.

CPC plus monitor is rated at 5V 2.4A and CTM644 5V 1.7A iirc. but does the CPC plus really draw that much more power, I don't know.

Hi Vincent,

I tested your setup and it works, but I wouldn't leave this configuration run for more than a couple of minutes. I heard some clicks and pops coming from an undefined place, and I'm afraid some voltage regulator inside the CTM was becoming hot.

I highly recommend you not to do it that way. The best solution in my opinion is to use an external, properly rated 5V supply.

Anyway, to use the CTM supply you'll need a DC power barrel adaptor. Finally, as you probably know you'll lose sound, so you'll need external speakers too.

Have fun!

@abalore : If yoour monitor is starting to make clicks and pops, then the High voltage circuitry is close to failing. This has nothing to do with the 5V rail. The regulator will get hot and/or fail without making any sounds.

Hi Bryce,

the clicks and pops only happen with the "CTM powering Plus" setup, they don't happen with CTM+6128 or CTM+Plus powered by external supply. They are a very subtle sound, nothing like sparks. It sounds like some circuitry rearming. Also I said they come from an undefined place, looking closely they seem to come from the M4.

Thank you all.

M4 makes sounds but I think this is due wifi and cpc speaker.

Monitor adapter was successful  ;D
Now I need a proper PSU.

I made a sega mastersystem joypad adapter sometime ago to play invasion of the zombie monsters.
Will this work on the Plus range or it is a different layout with the two fire buttons?
