It seems only this clear blue retro-bit SEGA Mega Drive pad. But is it really safe in the long time. Also we don't know if the second button works.

The second button cannot works, different pinout.

Please avoid using joypads of other platforms on CPC.
Only MSX joypad are fully compatible with CPC series, only Button A and B are inverted.
CPC 464 with USB Floppy Emulator / CPC 464+ with USB Floppy Emulator / CPC 6128+ with C4CPC and Gotek HxC USB Drive Emulator

But megadrive pads not should work as these, even de direction controls.
Sounds that these retrobit pad are some type of other pad renamed.

An interesting thing in the video was the a button is b in pad. Maybe is msx compatible?. Or master system?

Better to get this (which btw. is retrobit, officially licensed by SEGA):

And an Imperium Solo :P

Imo. the PAD feels like good quality, unlike the cheap(er) DB9 clones from ebay.

I have read that this Retrobit Megadrive pad is missing the pin in the middle of the d-pad, which stops you from pressing all directions at the same time. (like the $2 Chinese pads allow you to)I've not held one myself and would like to see the insides before I put down my hard earned for it, though really I wish I could replace the rubber membranes in my original 6 button pads.

Thanks, since I posted here I found the opened up pics, but now the only thing I need is super close up pics from different angles of the underside of the d-pad piece, side by side with an original 6 button pad.
