I personally use a standard AAA battery for providing the required voltage for blanking :) Ok, it's not so elegant, but if/when you use a proper battery holder, it's pretty neat solution.

I mostly use a Commodore 1084 monitor for all my old computers so RGB blanking is not an issue (its even got green screen mode for those old 464 flashbacks to my youth).


But for RGB enabled consoles I always use 5V + 180 Ohm to drive the RGB Blanking signal, a bit trickier on those that don't provide a 5V signal at the AV connector but there is always a way  ;D
