While not technically an Amstrad build, this project will apparently include a GX4000 eventually! All I can say is that from my adventures modding a GX4000 trouble shooting lots of tiny wires can be a real headache. I can only imagine that this build must be exponentially more complicated getting all these different machines to dance together. This guy must be a sucker for punishment or a crazy genius?

I guess (from my limited knowledge) it's not that hard to do, technically speaking, but will require tremendous amounts of patience. And it will be UGLY.

Bryce

It not a technical challenge, more of a "Multi-mod", the challenge (and skill) is to make it NOT be ugly.

I guess not technically that complicated, however, just the amount of wiring looks nightmarish! I suppose it would be a fairly ugly build in the end, both outside and in, and that's where I think the complicated element comes in. Having all that wiring to check if something goes awry, (and something will go awry as Murphy tells us!) it makes me feel rather sick. I'm a bit OCD about wires, I like to know where they all go to and I'm always fearful some rats nest will spontaneously try to untangle itself causing all kinds of hassle or fry something! I think I remember reading a while ago that this same guy built a portable GX4000 which ended in tears. Maybe he is a sucker for punishment after all!?

i think it would be easier and better just having the consoles as they are.

Couldn't agree more. It seems to me it's a waste of time, effort and consoles.

I agree too it's much nicer to have the consoles in their original state and just use them as you please! If you want multi gaming machines just get a PC hook it up to the TV set the sync speed to 50hz and run emulators for all machines with a common controller connected - job done!
