Hi all,

I'd like to share this great day with you: I'm like a kid on Xmas morning !
Few days ago, I have been in contact with an "old" computer seller and this guy told me that he still own a CPC6128 totally new and not used at all in his attic. He agreed to sell it for 100€ and not below .
So this morning, I had a chance to view this machine and in front of this immaculate German CPC, I could not resist. There is not any scratches or traces of use, keys are clear, not dust inside...a real museum piece.

and here is the machine after a drive belt change, running Symbos 3.0, 4Mb of RAM & HxC...I really feel like in 1985 :) but with modern add-on.

That's absolutely fantastic!

I'm so jealous.
My 6128's keyboard no longer works properly.

You have been so lucky! There are not many of those around!  :)

I had to rework 100% of the welding point on the centronics connectors (my M4 didn't work correctly); but now it is fixed.
Don't know if it is due to the "non activity at all)...

Bryce

The centronics connector on your CPC or the M4 connector?

Bryce.

Kris

On the CPC side...centronic connector are crimped on the M4 side.

Bryce

The CPC side joints tend to be prone to dry joints on most CPCs. It's always good to give them a reflow
(and clean the contacts) before you start connecting new hardware, especially if the expansion got very
little use up to now.

Bryce.
