Title: CPC Lissajous Curve Program - YouTube video
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 15:49, 27 March 19
Test video.
Apologies for sounding like a cave troll but I've been enjoying a sore throat for the last few days.............. :(
Also the soundtrack is slightly out of sync.

Sorry Fessor,

No disc image available at the moment. However, I can copy it to a 3" disc or 3.5" disk if you send me one.
In the future I might be able to transfer files like this using the USB interface from @ikonsgr (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=541) but not right now.

Cheers,

Peter

That is the original version from 1985 - see here:

http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&onglet=notices&num=9145 (http://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&onglet=notices&num=9145)

(Thanks to AMSDOS for the above link)

The version that is used in the video is a more sophisticated program with some increased user input.
I think it came from the WACCI library in the early nineties but I'm not 100% on that.

Cheers,

Peter

All credit to the original author and the unknown programmer who improved on an already excellent little CPC program!

I've attached a ZIP file containing a disc image. Peter sent me several discs full of random little goodies months ago, and despite assuring him that I would look at all them and send them on to CPC-POWER, real life got in my way too much and I never did this. :-[ Sorry Peter!

The Lissajou program particularly impressed me when I first saw it, but I have no idea where it came from or who programmed it. Also note that despite the LISS6128 filename, it seems to work normally on the CPC464 as well.

Thanks Nich,

I'd completely forgot about that.

Hint:
Use the Cursor keys and some(?) of the Function keys to modify the curve - shape, size and axis of rotation.

Cheers,

Peter

Oooo, pretty. I can do that on an analogue oscilloscope with no software at all and almost infinitely fast :)

Hi @Nich (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=53) !

I've tried your dsk on Arnold and Clock Signal on MacOS, and the program just resets the CPC.

Am I doing something wrong?

No. Something went wrong at my end and the program got corrupted when I copied it to a new DSK file. :-[ I've attached a new version of the ZIP file to my original post.

Liss6128 was found on a disk with other graphics programs that I collected back in the 80's/90's. Most of them are 1K/2K in size and are from the Scull PD library. I have been thinking of making a series of short videos showing these programs in action - I would use the same format as the Liss6128 video - list the Basic program and then run it.

Is there any interest in this type of video?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Cheers,

Peter
