Quote from: GUNHED on 15:29, 18 July 18Well, if they are in D20 format, the IMHO quickest way would be to make HFE's (or DSKs) out of them and upload them somewhere (here) and we all can make an inventory of them then describing details.
What settings would you use on CPCDiskXP 2.5.1 to create a dsk image of a D20 format disc GUNHED?
I'm having mixed luck in reading the disc where other discs I have tested and formatted read and write fine. If I can create an image with a Celreon PII (working) I have in hibernation in the loft it might make things quicker and easier.
Thanks,
Derek

Many thanks to CraigsBar for going thru this first Romdos D20 disk, cataloguing the contents, and for converting it to DSK format.
DSK file is in the zipped folder at the bottom of the post.

Tracks with faults

51, 53, 55, 65, 131, 145, 151, 153, 155, 157, 159

The above faults corrupted the files for the Arnor Roms and RunVT but these are already available so no loss.

Some of these files may have been seen before, some not. Some will be from the WACCI library, some UAUG and some from other PD libraries.

If any member is unable to use DSK files and would like copies, please send me a 3" or 3.5" disk and a SAE (jiffy bag preferred) and I will copy them for you. This is available to all members worldwide.

As soon as more files become available they will be posted in the Wiki.

Cheers,

Peter

As far as old PD is concerned... I have a metric craptonne of it sitting on some shelves. Plus a load of other code, no doubt including the BTL, PowerPage and RoutePlanner source, the unfinished Palatine demo, and on and on...

In reality I'm never going to have the time (or probably the hardware) to turn it all into .DSKs and upload it somewhere. So if anyone trustworthy wants to have a go, I could ship them a load of discs. Most of them will either be Romdos D20, D80 (on two sides) or standard data format.

There were actually three Robot PD catalogues over the years - the three-letter one (e.g. DEM10), the five-digit one (e.g. 12200), and then a final one which I've forgotten. Not everything made it from one catalogue into the next. I think David Cantrell's collection was the middle one, so there's doubtless a whole load of stuff which hasn't been uploaded anywhere yet. It'll take a long time, but I think it'd probably be worth it.

I have no idea if the discs are still readable, of course!

That photo looks horribly familiar.
A very long term project which no doubt would be worth it - probably a few little gems in there.

Hello.

I think that I can do the work with time to do it.

I have all the hardware to do it.

Please send me a PM when you can.
