I suppose I never consider resale value because I couldn't bare to part with my CPC  ;D

Would boxing your old 6128 add £20 to the resale value? Maybe...
If it isn't broken - make it better.

Not sure what I think of this....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Frogger-Amstrad-CPC-Plus-not-for-464-Plus-GX-4000-systems/282912867102?hash=item41deebc31e:g:BIkAAOSwKwVab5Vf
Is a bit naughty really but I'm sure anyone buying for the system will know what this is.

I really hate pricks who sell boxes to "add value" to their unit.
They can all die in a fire, along with the idiots who buy them.

Sucked the life right out of scene completely.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

Gryzor

Regarding that box: how much do you want to bet that he's going to ship it as-is, and not in another box? :D

And what the price will be for the privilege?!

A copy of switchblade on cartridge, looks a bit tatty in my opinion, yours for just £89.99 plus postage

Phew, I (my Dad) got mine from Wizard Games back in '94 for £6.99 - if only I'd picked up Chase HQ 2 from the AA adverts whilst I was at it :(

It's not just the CPC scene that's full of scammers: https://www.ebay.de/itm/ATARI-DIAGNOSTIC/132052427250

For 10k he could have at least dusted it off!

Bryce.

Skunkfish

They add the dust to make sure it looks vintage ;)

Am I missing something? What would posses anyone to think this is worth 10k euro?

Bryce

Well to be exact, only one person out of the few billion on this planet think it's worth that much.

Bryce.

tjohnson

And I would assume it is likely to remain so.  Any idea what the real value of this would be?

Bryce

The original price according to the photo in the listing was 800DM = €400, but the real value today is whatever some idiot is willing to pay for it.

Bryce.

I notice that there are some very high priced 6128+ and 464+ still on the ebay and the seller recently sold a 6128+ for £299 and that didn't appear to include a PSU or scart cable.  At these sorts of prices maybe Amstrad should restart manufacturing them.

Why is this so expensive?   Presume must be some rare software!

Likewise this seems alot for an external drive and interface, wouldnt one be better off buying a 6128?

Hopefully this is a mistake as I would be very interested in the software. Will keep my eye on this.

Thanks,

Peter

I presume some collector is buying for it to reach that kind of value, which bit of software on particular are you interested in? Is any of it archived off i wonder.

I have emailed the seller asking for confirmation of the price.

Any serious software is of interest to me and sad but true - I like collecting the originals.

Cheers,

Peter
