This happens on our kindle fire.

When I go to the cpcwiki website and go to look at the list of posts under a particular topic I see the header and footer parts of the page but the middle (where the messages are) is empty.

has anyone else seen this happen?

works ok on a desktop computer.

it doesn't matter if I use the mobile site (not tapatalk) or go to the full site. happens on both.
I have cleared the cache on the device.

Sykobee (Briggsy)

Works fine in Google Chrome on my Android (KitKat) phone... maybe see if the Kindle store offers Firefox or Chrome?

Cell phones induce cancer (see recent study at Stanford about young female breast cancer. That's where they carry their cell phones). So better use a Desktop instead of a cell phone.

I have the same problem on my iPhone 5 with Safari.

Only way round it is to use the link at the bottom of the page to 'switch to the full site' once I've logged in, but this works fine.

@Gryzor - Any news on removing the WAP version of the site...?

Gryzor

Did some tweaking, can you tell me if mobile view works now?

I had the problem... and still have it :(

Gryzor

Huh, strange, I don't. Please bear with me, can you describe exactly what you're doing?

remax

click on the "join us in the CPCWiki forum!" link
click on "News and Event"
click on "X-MEM..." title

then... empty page (only the header then page numbers on the top)

(same thing if i click on 4 in the page list)

Ah damn, yes, confirmed; I thought the problem occurred on the topics list, didn't drill down...

I only believe studies regarding young female breasts if I've carried out the research myself :)

Did some tweaking,

Oh, I see Gryzor has already started the research without me :D

Bryce.

Gryzor

You can say I got my hands full :)

McKlain

Any news on this? I have the same problem on my nexus 7 and on my moto G.

By the way @Gryzor , you can test it yourself on your desktop without the need of a mobile device. The latests versions of Chrome have a device screen emulator inside the development tools. The strange thing is that if you use the emulator to test this problem and later disable the emulation, you are forced to logout to have the forum theme back to normal.

Gryzor

Hey, first of all thanks for pushing :)

Unfortunately no, I haven't managed to get to the bottom of it, though I've tried a number of things. So I've asked for help on the SMF forum, let's see...

Oh, also, thanks for the emulation tip, very handy and didn't know about it!

Lazy Dude

Arse! I clicked on this thread hoping for a magic solution!
I also have blank forum pages on my android tablet - was about to throw it out with the rubbish till I now see others have the same issue.
Stupid modern technology, it never happened in my day - I remember back in the days when we used to have big chunky Amstrads. Lasted for ever they did   :D

will be checking back to see if some techie has sussed it soon!

Gryzor

Well, till I manage to fix it (heck, the fix that was recommended on the SMF forum I had already tried and doesn't work, dammit), why don't you just bookmark the Full Version instead? There's a link at the footer of the forum (wap2/Full version)...

And of course, there's Tapatalk which is pretty good!

Lazy Dude

link clicked - full fat version working nicely on my tablet! - thanks for the help

Gryzor

Ah, ok, I partially fixed it; now when on a mobile device you'll go straight to the full version, no need to click on the link.

I'll continue trying to fix the WAP2 version...

pelrun

That's the best possible fix for me, although I have a phone with a HOOOOGE screen (Galaxy Note 1), so desktop versions of pages don't bother me :)
