I was wondering if someone could cast some light on this magazine (circa ?1984-85).

I found some issues here -> Games Computing : Free Texts : Download & Streaming : Internet Archive
and one here -> Acorn Electron World: Magazine Scans: GAMES COMPUTING

It's a multi-platform magazine which had a few original Steve Lucas Adventure Games.

I added one of those titles to the Type-ins Category with Death of a Dictator which was in the October 1984 issue, though what's trouble me is "The Spy from the North", also by Steve Lucas, but it has it in the Computer Gamer November 1984, though according to CPC-POWER, Computer Gamer started April 1985, so I presumed that meant Games Computer from Nov 1984, however it's not in that issue. Trouble is the archive site is incomplete and wondered if that program was available anywhere?

Yeah it was good finding this magazine and find some programs from it, but no "The Spy From The North". From what I can make out there was only a handful of Games Computing Magazines from January 1984 to March 1985, before it was replaced with The Computer Gamer.

There's some great stuff on Archive.org, on the Eve of Xmas I found another book "Sensational Games for the CPC464" with nicely presented PDF of all the programs in it.

So more memorabilia from 1984 at risk of being typed-in.

Well the other book I saw on there in the same league as "Sensational Games..." is "The Amstrad Program Book" by Peter Goode. All the programs from that one are on CPC-Power, it just needs the scans to go with the programs.

I've got a few scans of these....I'll put anything Amstrad related here:

Games Computing - CPCWiki

:)

also, 'Computer Gamer' magazine has Amstrad material & Type-ins. I've got all 27 issues so eventually I'll do the same as above. Does CPC Power have all of the Type-ins from 'Computer Gamer' - do you know?

I think so, this is what the archive has on it. If it has "Aucun listing CPC", there's no CPC Programs in that issue, but their unsure about Issue 23.

Just getting back to Games Computing, in the January 1985 issue (which I noticed you had online), there's a little solution to an Amstrad Program in the Rockford Files (p.63), wasn't sure if you saw it. Probably not important if it's left out.

Sadly I know less about this magazine and I'm unsure where you'll be able to dig up this publication. I was only fortunate to discover this magazine when I tracked down the mysterious "Spy for the North" as you probably know.

Makes me wonder if there are any more of these Multi-platform magazines which are unknown, especially be good if their from 1984 and hold early Amstrad programs.

I had loads of those when I was a kid, bought some of them, including CwtA from the car boot for about 10p each. The rest were bought by my mother's ex. They were pretty cool. Kind of wish I still had them.

Wait no it was not those. It was Popular Computing Weekly.

New Computer Express was another Future Publishing magazine (I used to see that in AA) and I think the CPC articles that were in it were from AA.

Pretty sure that's the case, though I've never checked the publication out. The timeframe fits for stuff Steve Carey & Rod Lawton would have written in AA. I guess if there was some reader interaction which involved some Amstrad information, that would be worth checking out, though that probably made it into AA as well.

Well like all things the Amstrad was once a New piece of Technology, Computer Magazines in 1984 would have taken the opportunity to have something for the Machine on their pages, Electronics magazines around the period probably had something too.
