Do you have an overscanned splash-screen for your R-Type CPC conversion?
(Like the Castlevania screen. Lovely stuff!)
Yep. I'll add it later. ;)

Hey! Listen!
Some peoples said me to not understand this screen... So, here the uncut version.
It's a warthful Link exasperated by this f*cking Navy! The goal was to done a no-flashy picture with the CPC palette, using lightning and transparency too.
You can't argue with an Elf...
Not really a screen, but... A 16 colors giant wink to the lovely demo ever made on CPC.

I have a question. I'm not soo much into GFX, so it's just a question. When looking at the Zynaps and Vampire pirctures, then you can see that vertical bars all over both pictures. So.. is this due to the conversion from a PC screen? I'm just curious, because these bars remember me about scanning pictures with hand scanners or similar devices. But I guess you did use conversion rather that scanning?
Vertical lines are the result of a linear dither filling.
The strange thing is that when I used random filling method, another people (Ghost) said me the same.
And I agree, it's too much visible on the Vampire Killer picture. I may have to rework the sky.
Thanks.

Thank's for the information. Now I see how it's done. All the pitctures are - no doubt - very beautiful. And I guess we all agree, it's a pity we missed them in the old days.
Sure, I agree, it's always a good thing to overwork screens on a real CPC. The real CTM has that "hardware antializing" thing, well... some would just call it "less sharpness", but I like this effect, it just makes pictues more beautiful and even allow you to work with pixel shoddows. But you know that better than me. ;) Looking forward to new screens :) :) :)
Yes, on a real CTM pictures look better. :)
But, I have to find a better way to fill gradients... Random look "scan noisy" and Linead look "scan lousy" :D
Stay tunned!!!
That's all better than to use "Scan lousy"
The Batman pic is amazing. I could hang it on my wall...
Or on 3x2 overscan CTM ???
An old screen... Better to see it on DSK. (code by demoniak)
J'avais pourtant dit que je l'ajouterais une fois le jeu dispo... :-X
(Sorry... I had said that I will add it once the game will be available)

Do you see the R-Type 2 tribute stage? :D
The Pac-Man emulator loading screen. (mode 1 this time)
I forget this old one...
Just two fast mockups for fun...
First with scanline rasters. Second with more simple GA interrupt rasters.

If you like the idea, you are welcome to improve them. 8)

Just love the colours...
But something strange... Some colours was wrong. :-\
So, I have just uploaded it again with few changes!
It look that game map is formated with 32x16 chars screens.
The C64 and CPC version have duplicated tiles on edges... So, I have removed them to match with the HUD width.
Here a screen with GA interrupts only and minors changes. ;D

Awesome!!! :) :) :)

Bloody beautiful. Congrats!
Really amazing!
Wow! TotO, your 'cursed prototype' looks insanely amazing!
Those Cursed Castilla (good game that. I have it on PS4 and enjoy it way more than the Ghouls n Ghosts type of stuff that inspired it) pics have 32 colours. Mainly spotted it cos there's several shades of grey when the CPC only has the one. :o And mixing resolutions on the status panel. What were these shots for? A rough idea of how the game might look on CPC? Though scrolling would be an issue especially at that screen size.
The Defender of the Crown pics look nicely refined and I like how that character screen is very cleverly mixing resolutions seamlessly. :)
Thank you. :-*
@Carnivius (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=50): Yes, about DotC! ;)
We (Easter Egg) had been licensed in 2013 to port Maldita Castilla on CPC and have worked on a prototype version for the CTC-AY CPC cartridge system, but cancelled (finaly born the X-MEM + PlayCity). The display engine with many compiled sprites and some other things was done (using embedded cartridge ROM/RAM and save features for all CPC). Those mock-ups was the goal to reach, has we done with R-Type in example (but should be not final palette, you are right). Mixing HUD is by changing display mode on the same line and about scrolling and sprites, I can't explain it.
Here, some other things (WIP) not lost...

Oh those look nice. :)
Yeah I think i have seen that mixing resolutions on same line in a recent demo come to think of it. Not sort of thing I expect in a game (much like some other demo trickery) but cool. :)
this graphics of the main character are in CPC or are they from a CPC +?
It is a first step conversion with 2bpp. The goal was to be used for CPC or PLUS after a pixel/colour rework.

Thats amazing! Any chance to see this project finished?
I doubt. It was >5 years ago. Except a "miracle". ;D

Maybe if you try the new dandanator it will be easyer to develop the game.... and the miracle will happen, looks that you work a lot for it, it will be sad dont finish it :)
There's some impressive artwork here!

Sadly, Dantanator do not help to develop the game easiest. It is "just" a rom board.
Maldita Castilla was designed for the CTC-AY or X-MEM + PlayCity as advanced features.
2016 teasing title screen for a Cybernoid II port on PLUS ...
And in-game background using Rhino's Perfect Pix (+ hard sprites) MODE 1 mock-up!
Without rasters visual...
I think we all have to agree with Rhino and the Batman Group in that the CPC still has a lot of untapped potential.
Your screens look like a 16-bit game! 8)
I just do not remember about "how to" the red space ship is displayed ... :-\
EDIT: OK, I remember it now! ;D

Which is the Amiga version ? ;D
It's not so obvious.
Indeed, but the CPC version looks much better! ;D
Fantastic artwork! Nice use of colours makes it better than the Amiga version.

Maybe it was made... the old version made for CPC was semi-monochromatic, slow and left a lot to be desired... ::)
Maybe we rename it "Flying Shark Enhanced", "Super Mega Remixed Flying Shark", "Flying Shark Remake", etc... :D
A recently made picture?
