As many of you know by now the #CPCRetroDev 2017 - Amstrad CPC Game Creation Contest will be finished on Friday, 10th of November with 29 games entered that hope to win and come home with a prize. One of those games in that listing is Baba's Palace by Rafael Castillo and John McKlain; a rather lovely looking Amstrad game, that doesn't just feature a great soundtrack, but charming graphics and fun for all the family gameplay.

I think RetroSpiel is planning to produce a physical edition eventually. I don't know if it will be available on cassette, disc, or both.

Why not on SD-Card :)
I can confirm that there will be a physical release of the game. More information will follow in the next days :)
This was fun until I hit level 24.
...and now that I've complained about it I solved it. Blah.
It's really a great game !
:)
Went to level 26.
Must be the only one who hasn't played it yet; waiting for the physical release :)
PS just occurred to me that 'physical release' is a double entendre :D

Nah there's at least two of us. I'm tempted to make my own disc, but if the release is around the corner I'll just patiently wait for it.
Well, better late than never: Congratulations to this excellent game Baba's Palace, Mr. Rafa Castillo, and Mr. John McKlain for the lovely music.
Do we have a list of all level codes?

Thank you 6128. That's great.

I'm sorry, as I understand it, the physical edition could not be finally manufactured by its authors
Ah damn... perhaps someone else will pick it up?
The game is far good enough to be manufactured by polyplay.
Seriously, this game has a konami spirit, like goold old msx games.
Indeed, hence why I was asking whether someone else might pick it up.

I've played it without problem on Winape using v2.02 and the CPC6128 plus no Parados profile. Some might think I'm mad but I like better using the regular CPC palette tbh

I sent a message to @CyrilAmstrad (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2949) about it :o
Hi !
Thanks to @XeNoMoRPH (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1952) ;)
surprising that not possible to start ...
I tested in Winape , Java CPC (GX4000 simulator) and even real GX4000 ( picture attached )
and works fine until end lol
about CPC+ colors , I have made 2 versions :
1 version CPR "full" colored in CPC+ palette . ( "BabaspalAyor61")
1 another CPR version "light" , CPC+ palette but just slightly touchs and more close to the original . ( "BbaspalAyor Lite")
I put those 2 versions available in CPC WIKI , page " Converted GX4000" games" rubrik
Also made CPC+ conversion for CPC+ /GX4000 converts and available on CPC Wiki page : "Invasion of Zombie Monsters" (Revelo) and OPQA vs OPAQ (Manuel Sagra)
Other very nice will come soon .... ;)

one more better pic ;)
: version CPC+ Full colors (the 1)
Nice to meet you, Cyrille! I love your Plus versions.I've doing some tests here and it seems it's my fault. My keyboard fault, better said. None of the three emus (I've already tested in JavaGX4000 now) can recognize my keystrokes when the game waits for a key. However, I'm able then of pressing ESC, modify the program ( ??? ?) in order to avoid the inkey$ line and when I execute it, it jumps that part and loads the game menu. But there, my key pressings are not detected again, and the game doesn't start.I downloaded WinAPE again, just in case, but it doesn't help. I haven't realized this weird behaviour before (but others with WinAPE ??? )
EDITO: it works with Arnold, I had unselected the NumLock  It seems it is related WinAPE engine
Nice to meet you MiguelSky ;)
well done , you found the problem :) caused to the emulators egine and mainly with their inner configuration . Enjoy and See you ! ;)
