Hi to all!

Years ago I got Exolon free on the cover of Amstrad Action, think it may have been a feb issue AA102 probably. Now it's been a long time since I played the tape as I have misplaced it but I'm absolutely certain the music that plays on the title screen used to play all the way through the game. I played it originally on a late model 6128 which I still have. Maybe it was some weird bug that occurred after the AA guys messed with the code for the cover tape?

I can remember all the sound effects coinciding with the music I'm sure of it! It feels weird playing it like something is definitely missing, seems bland . Maybe I am going nuts!?  :o

It never had music in-game as far as I am aware. Maybe you are thinking of Cybernoid games which do have music throughout.

Gryzor

Indeed, never played Exolon with in-game music!

The game, when originally released, had title music by Nick Jones and only sound effects ingame.
I've just loaded up the AA101 version and it has exactly the same; only sound effects ingame. Sorry!

Thanks guys. At least I know for sure now. Its a shame that it doesn't have in game music but now I'm rather more worried that it seems I am loosing my marbles!

I got Exolon on AA covertape too, finished it eventually...well, after finding the cheat.

I did everything with that Exolon game from the AA101 Covertape, Cheated, Hacked it to Disc and cracked it without the cheat!  :P  Most people will say the Cybernoid games are better, though I reckon Exolon is better thanks for it not having the In-Game Music, though them Cybernoid games probably allow you to switch off the Music, still the Difficulty set in them tells the story and having Keypress Cheats proves the writer needed to cheat to ensure it was bug-free!
