I would like to convert a Game "V the Visitors" from DSK to CPR, so I can play it on the Amstrad GX4000 with the C4CPC.
I couldn't find it in the list of games converted to CPR.
Is there an easy way to go about doing this? I found a few webpages about the game in general. but nothing that helps. http://www.mobygames.com/game/v
You may be able to find what you're looking for somewhere in this huge thread:

I'm sure someone else will reply with a more direct answer though.
@Phantomz (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1308) is your man.
Hating to plug my own fanzine (again), but issue 2 of Colour Personal Computing (out in April) will feature a guide on converting games to .CPR (including redefining controls).

Oh dallana, this series was very famous here in the 80. :) .
Easy or not easy depend of how the game was made and the cracks aviable.
Skunkfish, that will be useful, hopefully we'll see more games converted.
Although if I'm correct, apart from finding the keyboard codes for remapping input to the controller codes (menu and game), hiding keyboard/joystick menus and keyboard remapping interfaces, it's really just replacing the disk loader for a game with a ROM loader with decompression?
Well, even easier than that if you use Kev Thacker's NoCart tool.
http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Nocart (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Nocart) - which annoyingly is missing a download link, you can get the tool here (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/cpc-plus-cartridge-replacement-one-more/?action=dlattach;attach=14473)
This only works with unprotected DSK's, so you'll either need to find a cracked version or crack the game yourself :)
Heh, yeah, that looks even simpler. Still, most games need patching for controls (but given the codes are known, it shouldn't be hard - especially if you have a change codes function (as you can search for the changed values before and after)).
Clever patching AMSDOS to read 'files' from ROM instead of disc (where that works).
Until you only have compressed hackers games or the games is more that one side disk, or they not use amsdos, or they have capped the joystick button 2. :)
Anyway V appears so simply, it supports joystick by default, and is not compressed. I not view a poke exist So the game should not be very dificult.
Is it possible to convert Operation Alexandra to cartridge with nocart? Ive tried but all I get is the intro sequence repeating over and over lol. Thx
