Been a while since ive updated so here goes  ;) Cant exactly remember how many new ones there is since last update, but probably a good 30-40 new ones. Also dumped the audio side of Trantor. Brilliant promotional idea to have the game on one side and music on the other. Then again, perhaps a bit unsafe, as one side may go bad and you are stuck without a working game/music side. Fairlight too only had the game on one side of the tape, could be that someone accidentally erase the other side of cause.

You can get all the Cdt in one here:
http://www.megashare.com/810061

Or if you just need one or 2 they are all here:

WHAT? Trantor had music on its second side??? But I had it - original, not budget - and I never saw something like that... downloading like crazy :D

[EDIT] Ah bummer, you only have the game side. Makes sense, duh... Anyone has the soundtrack?

You can download an MP3 of the soundtrack from World of Spectrum - although the quality of the MP3 is poor. :( The download URL is ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/music/bonustracks/Trantor-TheLastStormtrooper.mp3.zip

Go! released several other games with soundtracks on the reverse side of the cassette:

  • Captain America in The Doom Tube of Dr Megalomann
  • Lazer Tag
  • Side Arms
  • Wizard Warz
There may be others that I don't know about. I have all of these games except for Lazer Tag - does anyone else own it?

The Trantor Wav is in the Wav directory (and quite large even tho is low quality, mono tape) so isnt included in the Cdt archive. Its a song called "The Fight" by a band called Resister.

This this direct link:

Oh, so THAT'S where this song comes form... I've heard it before... what do you know, maybe after all I *did* listen to the audio side!

Hm, nice little song, if a bit on the corny side. Anyone played Trantor while listening to it?

Thanks so much man!

Indeed, it does feel a bit "old" today i must admit. Interesting tho how the last 2-3 seconds turns into some "data" noise i think. Perhaps the game was originally on both sides, but they later decided to have the music instead on side 2? Anyway the music is there 100% official, and not a "last minut" change as the inlay (in colour) has a whole page dedicated to the music.

Thanks mate! I must admit I i still aint good at recognizing the different protections once they get more sofisticated than the normal block and records load (even tho those can be a pain in the neck too). Also some games are really well protected just because they have been recorded at low volumes  :D I do belive i become a lot better since the beginning tho.

My old pc just started resetting the other day, so i got a new Acer pc with intel dual core 2.4ghz and 4 gig ram. All my amstrad stuff has been safely transferred so its all intact (and backup'd to external hdd too). So im ready to continue dumping the last couple of stacks of tapes i got  :)

Small update (sorry for the old thread bump):

Added some more Cdt tape game and uploaded the full pack again to:
http://www.megashare.com/1535715

Looks like Deep Strike, Mordon's Quest, Critical Mass & Pulsoids isnt on Phenix yet  ;) Then there is Krakout and some AA tapes as well.

Also made a Wav dump of Firebirds 3D Pool here:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/8219540/40f5a43a/Wav.html
That one is probably the same as the one on Phenix tho.

If you just one of the CDTs you can get em here:
