On a real CPC, everything's fine :). Ok, this is not helping.

@Targhan

I haven't got access to real hardware at the moment, what are the default keys set at?

Strange how I have the issue in both Caprice Forever and Winape but you apparently don't at all?  Which emulator did you try?

I play the game with WinAPE. And I redefine keys in each game.
There are no keys by default. With the final code changes the programmer forgot the default keys. Only cursor keys works. That's why it's convenient to redefine keys in each game.

Targhan

@Phantomz Actually, on a real CPC, the default keys seem buggy, only left/right/crouch are working. I couldn't find the keys for up and fire1/2. You have to redefine the keys, which I did without thinking when I played the game.

So it is a problem with the game itself and not emulators and such?  That's all I wanted to know so I wasn't being dumb or crazy or something.

Thank you for the response, I thought it was strange that you said it was working ok on real hardware as I can see the problem on the disk.  ;)

Sure is, they will probably fix this soon enough.

I can fix my disk myself, just not sure what the best default keys would be, in case it's ok to share it.  ;)

I simply forgot that I never trusted default keys for a game, and prefer to redefine them without a second thought :).

As much as I also prefer using my own keys too, the default keys should work as some people might press 1 to start a game from the start ( before using redefine ) and get stuck and can't play due to half the default keys missing.

Cool, the default controls are fixed. :)
What's the differences between the 64 and 128k versions? I had a quick go on both and noticed the 64k has different title screen logo, simpler Game Over text and no level name screens, but otherwise seems very much the same as the 128k version (even keeping the music which is often one of the things that gets cut when stripping down a game into 64k).   It's a cool game.  May have to go plug in my real 464 soon for a proper playthrough on the real hardware. :)

On my 6128+ I cannot get past the first screen, the game hangs and I get a blank screen instead of the Robota loading picture. I read on CPC-POWER that the same thing happens on 64k systems, so I'll try the 64k version and cross fingers :-)

Another weird thing is that although the game loads fine on the M4, if I try to load it from drive A (real floppy) or B (HxC) while the M4 is connected, just after displaying the loading screen I get a load error and the game crashes. Disconnecting the M4 makes everything work again.

Anyway, thanks a lot for all your hard work. I'm really enjoying the game and although I know it by heart at this point, I still play it every night before bed. It has a weird relaxing effect on me :-D

A pity; wonder how many copies were made...

Perhaps a sign that demand has been underestimated.
This game deserves a more luxurious edition like that of Operation Alexandra (the audio CD was a wonderful idea).

How a PRE-ORDER can be out of stock?  :-\

Gryzor

Easy, if you have ordered a finite amount of units to be manufactured :D

Is the pre-order goal, a way to know the amount of units to be manufactured first?  :D

Yes, but not always. Could also be flexible-order a quantity, open preorders, adjust.

reidrac

Dawn of Kernel did 64+ units in pre-order. I don't know how many units were pre-ordered on this one; may be is hundreds and then it makes sense they have to slow it down a bit.

Is pre-order pre-pay in this case?
Released The Return of Traxtor, Golden Tail, Magica, The Dawn of Kernel, Kitsune`s Curse, Brick Rick and Hyperdrive for the CPC.
