How To Be A Complete Bastard - anyone completed it?

Kind surprised to not find a longplay through to completion of this game, on any system, on Youtube!

There is one vid for the Amstrad that says it's a longplay in the title that helps, but he doesn't quite make it and ends up giving up before lighting up all the letters.

Did anyone complete this lighting up all the letters to spell "COMPLETE BASTARD"?

I'm getting close, but what I can't work out is at points you lose a letter.

I believe it may be something to do with the kind of task completed. eg putting a plant pot on someones head may only be temporary before they release themselves and rejoin the party.
At points, I've set the game speed to be 1000% but no letters were lost. So I don't think it's a time based challenge, rather some things you complete may be. It's just going to be a pain in the arse working out which!

I imagine most people looking at the title of this game and going "Nah.. I already know how to be a complete bastard".

OK my hypothesis was right. Some actions only work for a short period of time before it wears off and a 'letter' disappears.

For example, taking the pen from the coat hanging up and stabbing someone with it .... won't make the guest leave the party. They'll be frozen to the spot for a while, and then they'll return to the party and you'll lose a 'letter'.

The 'permanent' ones that keep the 'letter' (ie the guest leaves the party) that I've found so far are ....

BATTERY CHARGER - shock a guest (Sober)
OIL - pour over head (Sober)
PAINT - pour over head (Sober)
SHEARS - haircut (girl) (Drunk)
HAMMER & NAILS - nail to the floor (man) (Drunk)

(note some things have to be done whilst either drunk or sober)

So that's 5 found. 11 more to go!! But running out of ideas already, I don't see how I can get enough temporary ones done in time to reach the full letters before they wear off.

Anyone have any ideas? I found some online guides but they don't cover this.

Yep I found that too, it has proved very useful, there's a few errors there but only very few of them cause guests to leave and light up a letter permanently.

We did 'beat' the game in the end! But for the last bits we had to resort to using a poke. Watch and I'll explain why, how to get all the letters lit up, the strategy and best route plus some extra fun bits!

That cracked me up when it just froze, and you had no choice but to actually reset it. It made the game.

I remember there were tips in Amstrad Action, but I don't recall a complete walkthrough, just a list of things that you could do in order to get letters.
