Ok now that I finally got around to testing various compilations on emulation (Winape), I've run into a few disks that I can't seem to play the games. I could really use some help getting these to run. Without linking to these directly, I'll mention that you can find these easily at CPC-Power and cpc-power (if I'm allowed to do so, just say it and I'll edit in the links to direct download).

-Dynamite consists of 2 discs. When you see the downloads at the above 2 sites, the disk version dump consists of 4 disk files: sides front and back of 2 disks. Disc 1 side 1 has an "Amcharge" bin, and nothing else that I can see. Running it doesn't bring me to the games, or any prompt on how to access them.

-La Selection is similar to above. Side A has an amcharge program that can be run, but no games in that or side B.

AMCHARGE service for MINITEL - this allowed French users to download commercial games.

Well yes, but why in this thread? :D

The original post states that the discs contain AMCHARGE.BIN so are likely to be from this service. It may be better to look for these games individually.

Ah ok, but I think this might be irrelevant, perhaps someone just saved the file onto their disk before it getting imaged...

AMCHARGE is a Bonus on these Disks, just type |CPM to start :)

Ah, thanks! Yeah, I was going to say beyond just being able to play the games, it would be good to have the compilation releases preserved; so which was why I'm looking into running these.

I'll give |cpm a try and report back shortly. I didn't check the instructions scans, which I should have... but admittedly I was halfway into sleep during testing and even trying get this thread out.

EDIT: Hah! Can't edit my OP. I wrote cpc-power twice. Meant cpcrulez. Anyway here are the links:

UPDATE: It works! Thanks!

Quick question though. For La Selection in tape format (click the tape icon tab here): https://www.cpc-power.com/index.php?page=detail&onglet=dumps&num=3716

Gryzor is on the third tape side A. How do you play this on the tape, as running it loads up Crazy Cars by default.

Do a FF (Fast Forward) beyond the Crazy Cars Loader like you would load a real tape, after that change to tape and do RUN"", Gryzor will load ;)

Thanks! Though, I don't know how to do this in the emulator, WinApe. I'm looking at the tape control menu with the drop-down list of blocks. No idea where to go from there with the options.

EDIT: Oh wait, looks like I can manually start the tape from an option I select from the drop-down. Let's see...
EDIT2: Yep, got it!

Thanks!

Just to keep you up-to-date , may I suggest you to use RVM instead of WinAPE ? Sure WinAPE is nice but it's kinda outdated, you may want to have a look here : https://www.retrovirtualmachine.org :)

mgman

Oh yeah, I read about that. I'll probably switch over soon. I used winape for the longest time (over 10 years). RVM seems to have sprung up when I took a hiatus (as did emulators for pretty much every other system I emulated).
