A bit weird, perhaps they got into copyright troubles or similar. No doubt Stratego was a quite popular board game in the 70-90 & came in many versions like Star Wars & mulitplayer (4 instead of just 2).

Or perhaps it dosnt work well on a 8bit machine as its a stealth game abit like "battleships" and as the pieces move around it quickly becomes a memory game more than a strategy/movement game. I mean the computer remembers everything so how do you program a good AI so that it just dosnt roll over the human player? If the computer isnt allowed to remember then the human would roll over the computer with very little difficulty. A 2 person mulitplayer would be easy to program but then you get the issue of only one player may look at the screen at a time.

Still a bit odd if there isnt a PD or Type-in version on the amstrad.

I have recently played BATTLESHIPS with a friend of mine and then I threw the idea of playing STRATEGO but there was nowhere to be found! So I decided to post this. Indeed, someone should create it for the CPC!
