Hello,

Just a few screens of preview ... it's much more advanced, I would show more things after the ReSet Party ;)

Trebmint

This looks lovely. Is it a full game, or just a graphic set?

Heckel

It is scheduled for a real game ... More details after the Reset Party;)

villain

Bof, a new Atari ST-game... :-)

It just looks incredible!

Nice.

I see hints of acheivements and trophies and potentially speed-run play.

Is it a copy of Gryzor or a new game which uses the same characters and theme but different level layouts?

fais attention ou le con t'aura...
:P

in the scenario of history are conducted in the same time that our original Gryzor, but with other heroes who come to the rescue Lance and Bill, after having read that they are going to trap.

So they visit the original decors, but also new.

Gryzor = 3 lvl.
Gryzor Rescue = 9 lvl.

Here I not say more, after the reset has this party;)

khaz

Hopefully playability will be improved upon the original Gryzor.
Using two buttons will already make it miles better.

Heckel

Thank you all for the encouragement ;)

Everyone deplores the lack of scrolling in the original CPC version of Gryzor ... But even without scrolling, I find the excellent playability of the original. It is fluid, reactive, dynamic, without false notes, can be a bit too easy;).

Perhaps it could be faulted for not having a second button to jump, as almost all games on cpc ...

That said, we hope of course to surpass the original version all levels ;)

andycadley

Looks good. And for what it's worth, I totally agree on the CPC+ issue. Trying to bolt on Plus features after the fact doesn't work well and tends to mean compromising the look of one of the versions unless you completely redo all the assets.

Not that a Plus version of Gryzor wouldn't be extremely cool....

TotO

Nice work in progress that will require a hard work to be acheived.
I think the "praline font" (temporary?) is not adapted for this game.

Gryzor

Flip screen never bothered me either; maybe scrolling would make it better, but with careful enemy placement a flip screen game can be just as enjoyable (and offers opportunities for traps etc). Anyhow, really looking forward to it :)

I can't agree with that, man. The gameplay is just awkward, the whole stance system with two different sets of directional controls depending on if the fire button is pressed just doesn't work. You can't jump while shooting, don't crouch if you aren't, else you just fall from the platform... It just doesn't make sense on a system with two buttons on the controller by default. It barely makes sense with a single button, and you only got good with it because you were a kid who had nothing else to play and had to get around the controls. They are inexcusable for a game that came out three years after the NES.

Agree with Toto about the font: looks like a font for a demo, not for such a game like Gryzor can be.....

flip screen wqas just another sort of gameplay, each screen being its own sub-level... you mostly have to anticipate each time you go through to next screen and fire before just in case.

The lack of scrolling was mostly reported on the horizontal levels , all other may not need it.

Concerning gameplay :
may be usefull to handle second button I guess, or if the game doesn't allow co-op 2P game, may even use dual joystick/pads to have directional fires.

Heckel

The game is based on two versions, version Gryzor as we know it, and contra 4 on Nintendo DS.

- There environments 9 and 9 Boss
- Levels horizontal / vertical / tunnel.
- 100 trophies.
- 2 buttons (shooting and jumping).
- 1 Player.
- Several end.
- And many surprises;)

This episode follows a Gryzor and place in time a few hours after the departure of lance and Bill. This is not a remake but a sequel. You will cross the levels seen the first episode, but also many others.

For the rest you can talk if you want, we read you, but we do not comment on. Now we will release more information other before the devellopement walk well, wait and see ;)
