Some of us may remember this.  Me personally, a friend showed me this pile of tripe on his 464.

I liked the mode 0 platform game that used colour flashing to animate and also the trucking game that was an adventure of sorts.

Once i found to my amazement that the adventure set in a "3D" maze entertained me.

May I ask, what was your fave game from this compilation?

EgoTrip

I got to the 5th game and it was too painful to continue

Dabooka

Blimey, there's a question... ;D

The one that stands out for me with the truck simulator you mentioned, picking up logs and what not.  Can't recall many of the others, so that gets my vote purely as i can justa bout remember it!  I do remember noting the tape counter numbers for every game.

Was it not a compilation that had one or two "proper" games in ther and then made up with rubbish fillers?

Even DOS'd around with an old 1640...

you mean the Cascade Cassette 50 Tape?

I wonder how many people actually got to load the last games on this tape?  I don't think I ever did  ::)

Game 49 sums it all up really.

The games are all low quality, mostly BASIC I think, there is some MC used in them, but their quality is on par at best with type-ins from magazines.

Gryzor

I thought the watch had the greatest gameplay value?

MiguelSky

Oh, damn !!! The 38 - Hopping Herbert caught me !! 380 points is my record :D

There were a few decent games tucked into the collection, however not too many ... the text adventure "exchange" was competently done (albiet short), as was the trading game "Trucking". There were a few more competent ones amongst the utter junk.

HOWEVER ... I'm really here to mention something weird about "Trucking" for the interest of the community.

There's an easter-egg in Trucking of the "x-rated" variety. Remember the attractive female hitchhiker who "seems" to be on the nude side? Well, she doesn't just /seem/ to be nude, there's actually a section of code that's not wired with with additional nude graphics for the girl! The code in question is wired up to some pretend code that's never actually called, in order to "camoflauge" it. i.e. there's hidden porn in there, and the developer attempted to disguise it's purpose. He really had the last laugh there.

To view the code in question:

- load the "trucking" game
- escape out and look at the Basic source code
- Lines 2710-2770 draw the "hitchhiker" girl
- However, line 3130 has some "extra" graphics and is never called.
- Edit these graphics in as e.g. line 2780, making required changes to line 2770
- Run "goto 2710" to see your handiwork.
- Now, you have the hitchhiker girl, but with naked boobs!

Note this works in either the Cassette 50 version or the disk version, but you need to go through the extra hoops to unprotect the basic code in the disk version.

Gryzor

Why wasn't this all over the news? :D
