Hi,
I'm a homegrown text adventure enthusiast and I'm looking to track down some disk/tape images of indie titles published by (mail order company) The Adventure Workshop in the early to mid 1990s. Sadly, their extensive catalogue of games don't seem very well preserved online.
The titles I'm after are Microfair Madness, The Quest for the Holy Snail, The Life of A Lone Electron, Personal Computer Whirled! & Man About the House; which were all converted from Spectrum titles and produced using the CP/M version of Gilsoft's PAW, published on 3" disk.
I'm also after the tape versions (probably Quilled or Adlan-ed) of First Past the Post (the adventure game not the horse racing sim) and Get Me to the Church on Time! (I have the disk versions already) plus any tape versions of the other games listed above.
I don't want the original media... I'm just after digital copies. Not being hugely familiar with the Amstrad preservation scene, I wasn't quite sure where to look. Internet searches have turned up a few repositories of files but they don't have the titles I'm after.
Thanks for your help,
Strident
Nobody?
Nothing at this end I'm afraid.
Sorry I don't have any of them either.
Are any of the ones you own preserved on-line?
Look at the Hibernated thread. :)
Following on from my original post, there are a huge number of Amstrad 'The Adventure Workshop' games not preserved in any of the online archives... a relatively tiny selection of the 150 or so games they sold for CPC/PCW/CPM.
You can read about the software house, and see advertising related to many of the missing games, here...
