I thought I would say hello to everyone and say that I am happy to be on. I am a player/collector and have been made aware of the wonderful gaming opportunities available through the GX4000 and the C4CPC. I have a boxed one coming and am eagerly awaiting the hours, days, years of gaming and excitement it will surely provide. For me the game that enticed me towards the GX4000 is Space Crusade. I have never played it, but I am looking forward to it!

Welcome to the forum!
The C4CPC certainly turns the GX4000 into something rather impressive! before the C4CPC, CPC+ games were limited and expensive, but now there's far more available!

Of course, if you get the chance one day to get your hands on a 464 or 6128, you'd be able to enjoy all the 'Keyboard CPC's' have to offer, but the PLUS features of the GX4000 certainly are nice... those 16 color sprites, for example!

I hope you have fun when the GX4000!

Welcome!

Where are you from initially, if not the US? Just asking because we don't get that many a visitor from the other side of the pond :)

Bludax

I am from across the pond, Alabama to be exact 8)

Thank you all for the welcomes and I agree the C4CPC makes the GX4000 sound very appealing for someone in the States to experience the Amstrad family.

I do hope one day I can find a CPC/CPC+ but the size of the monitor and the seeming neccesity of it makes one a bit of a bigger challenge (I am one of those that likes to get the art the way the artist intended and then sample all of the other perspectives :D  after).

I am also a novice when it comes to the European consoles/computers, so when I become comfortable with the GX4000 I am sure to Branch out.

Welcome Bludax!

You don't really need the original monitor to use the regular CPC/CPC+. The CPC output is RGB, so you'll have no issues with PAL signals as in other systems; any 15khz capable monitor should work. And it is not terribly difficult to build the cable by yourself -- I did, and I'm terrible at this kind of thing  :)
Enjoy!

Thanks adolpho.pa! I will definitely look into that. I am very excited about it and ready to give the GX4000 a spin. I also appreciate the other welcomes ;D

Well I got my Amstrad GX4000 some time ago but that SCART to composite is taking its merry time. I at least know the Amstrad powers on:-)
