Hello everyone,

i wanted to do something productive with my cpc after all these years and this is the fruit of my all night work. All the work was done on the cpc itself with no mouse  :o , i believe the end result looks fantastic on the cpc and a bit dull on the emulator. Hope you like it and maybe even someone finds it useful. Sorry about the photo quality but my phone sucks.

That's really cool.
It's quite shocking how much better it looks on the real hardware!

On the real monitor if you step back a couple of feet it is simply amazing, the first thought i had is that if they used an ad with that picture back then they would have a gotten a sales boost for sure!

ComSoft6128

Nice work, thank you.

Cheers,

I should be the one thanking you for the compliment! :)

You are a patient person to make this.

What specification is your CPC? Do you know which Gate-array it has?
What display are you using? monitor or television?

I ask because there is some colour difference comparing CPC and Plus and there is also some settings inside the monitor that can control colour output.

Just a stock CPC 6128, its one of the first models, i have the computer since 1987 but it is an 1985 model since my father bought for me from my cousin and he had the computer since it was released in 1985.
I am using the CTM644 monitor and its actually quite worn out, the slightest increase in brightness results to a redish tint all across the screen.

Could i actually use the internal controls to "re-calibrate" the screen for a better image quality? this monitor has a lot of miles under the hood since it was used as a television as well.

And a more than colorful mode 1 attempt with "3" levels of dithering. I think it looks kinda nice.

I have created a more complete set of test palettes to see the variations of the different selections, some of the produced colors are the same but still you can see how they fit in the spectrum, i might have saved of couple of duplicates in the disk by mistake. Also, i believe that when working with a strict blue/purple/mauve selection the results are very nice. Try your combinations, just keep the white and in black in place so the template won't be affected.

edit
Please view these in a real CPC, the difference with the emulator is spectacular

I have been working long hours lately but i am still in the process of making all available CPC color palettes for a glossy print version just for the fun of it, the shop i will print my "book" requires a minimum of 10 copies and the price will be determined by the quality of the paper and binding used. Is anyone interested in acquiring a copy? I am not selling these, the price will be the amount it will cost me to print them + any postage costs to ship them to anyone interested. Also this will take some to complete as i do not have much free time available at the moment.

Beautiful stuff, thanks for sharing!
