CPC Rulez has just opened a beta for its Rulez!Charge (http://cpcrulez.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5583) program.
For peoples who known Amcharge (Minitel), Rulez!Charge is a modern way (Internet) to download and write DSK from your CPC.

It require a serial interface (like CPC/Mini Booster) and a PC as gateway.
All should work like magic if you are using a bluetooth connection. ;D
WOW, looks amazing, Where do we get in on the Beta Program... Sorry my french is limited to Cullinary :(
I'm eating chouquettes and croissants for waiting the link to download it... ;D
Really great news! I'm really restless to test it :)
...so the CPC is able to download content from Internet?
Yes. I have updated the first post to be more understandable. 8)
Magic!!! :-X
What comfortable idea!
Just another question (has nothing to do with that topic): would the PC be able to act as a HTML Server (prepare the data for the CPC to save CPU power) and sent it in the same principle (as a "Gateway") to the CPC just to view the content?
Sure it should be possible.
I have already spoke about that in the past for a web brower and a doom game.
You got a like for posting that. But I don't see the advantage over having a Mini-Booster and using Write DSK with it. Sorry, I guess I miss the point. :-X
It seems to take more than 1 minute to write 2 tracks (9KB), which is less than 150bytes/second (including disc writing), is this already the final speed?
I never had a look at the Arkos Write DSK, was it the same speed?

No, that writes with usual speed.
EDIT: Looks like the "Reading" needs the most time.
Maybe read/write can be improved using an HD or an X-MASS

How should that work? A track usually (Data format) only has 4.5 KB. For writing to a physical disc the FDC is all that counts. For reading data the Mini-Booster transfer rate and the speed in which the PC sends data are the decision makers.
Even if you would buffer data on hard-disc, at the end it still needs to be written to disc. No gain.
Or maybe I don't get what's actually happening here.

Hey! You no more have to use a PC for the firsts steps...
(except if you already own all the CPC softwares on it)Here, you use the CPC for searching, downloading and writing the files from Internet to a floppy.
So my DB9 - DIN5 Amscharge cable is now totally useless ?
And I don't even have to use my Minitel ?
more seriously... some "mobile phone application could come handy.
more phones support bluetooth and get some internet thing.
Anyone for the WinPhone or Android killer app ?
perhaps iOS ?

That's gotta be wrong; even my DSK2CDT2DISC managed 15seconds or better per track, and it was loading them from tape!

Use your PC... why try to display something on CPC he can not do it alone...
Without Minitel, a CPC alone was not able to download softwares in 80's = no Amcharge.
Using a Server (PC or anything else) as gateway is what does all computers to access networks, play games, ...
The CPC had enough things to process to not waste its CPU time. Things Network applications not Demo!
Well, as long as I can take the USB cable and don't have to use Bleu Dents ;)
You mean "dents bleues", n'est-ce pas ?
Qui, c'est frai! :)
Maybe it's "a bit" slow, but it's amazing to download from the website directly with the CPC. ... Although with a little help from a pc.

Totally forgot about this.
Does it work with an M4?
No, it's for RS232, CPC-Booster and Mini-Booster... But... does somebody know a link to the latest version?
Thanks gun.
I wonder if that serial holes on M4 can do something :-X
The M4 can already download files from the internet, so what does this do that is different?

This is for serial interface like CPC Booster and was done before the M4 was released.
I suggested in the other thread about the CPC file manager for M4 to support direct download from the net along with an easy way to implement it, but didn't seem to get a positive response. I guessed no-one with CPC wants to download direct?
Httpget command already work on M4 to get a file directly from internet. See the thread about telnet utility written by Duke or directly the documentation

Of course I think most M4 owners now that as we use it to get updates before. But to be able to copy a file from the net to a folder with the filemanager in a way identical to that from folder to folder would be really simple to implement and easy for everyone.
