CPC 464 tape repairs

I am trying to identify the issue with my cpc 464s tape deck. The Record and rewind buttons are seized solid and I have noticed corrosion on both the PCB and tape deck assembly. Don't know if the corrosion has always been present of if it occurred while in storage.
The tape deck has a mint condition belt so thats not the issue.

There's some weird corrosion on the PCB too. Something nasty has got in there.

It sure did no idea what it is though. Has been left in a shed for 20ish years so I'm guessing it happened then.
Will give it a clean with isopropyl alcohol and hope it lifts.
Not sure if the PCB has been damaged by it or if its just surface.
