Amstrad CPC 464 Welcome Demonstration Cassette ("Welcome To Amsoft")
27 June 2014, 8:01 am

This is the welcome demonstration tape that came with all new Amstrad CPC 464 computers! This was likely the very first thing you loaded up on your brand new computer! I doubt you would have...[/t]

So, you mean you can play AND work on that CPC thing? WOWZERZ!

Thanks, this was nice; I spent so many hours watching that tape when the only alternative I had was Into Oblivion...

Carnivius

I've never actually seen the Welcome tape run before.   Despite my 464 being brand new it didn't come with a Welcome tape.  Had the Amsoft 12 pack and a another pack of games included free (Artic and Tynesoft stuff some of which I really enjoyed) but nope, no Welcome tape.   Doesn't seem like I missed much but would have been nice for the sake of completion.
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

No Welcome tape? But I think even the polys had a special slot for that tape?I really thought it was given away with all the CPCs - though now that I think of it, after a certain point it'd be silly to demo such early simplicity...

Carnivius

Dunno.  I got my CPC pretty early but yeah definitely no Welcome tape included.  Could have just been an error in packaging it or something.  No big loss.  Happier with the extra pack of games really.

Oh yes, much better. I only had that and the first tape that caught my dad's eye on the budget rack in the shop (Into Oblivion).

Strangely enough, I can't remember which was my second game, or when/where I bought it... Pity.

It seems to be the same as the 664 welcome disc.

I remember wanting to play Home Runner after seeing the demo...
... and then I played it. Talk about underwhelming!
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?
