Sure, boot CP/M then put the game disc in, type DIR for directory. Look for a file with the name of the game and the ending .COM and then just type in that file name. That's it.  :)

i'm in the same boat, downloaded Joyce for Windows and installed it but have no idea how to actually get the game loaded... is there an idiot's guide to the PCW out there? =-)
1) get an emulator like Habi's: http://www.habisoft.com/pcw/index_uk.asp
2) download the system disks provided by breiztiger from this thread:
Syst Disk Amstrad PCW 8256
3) download the game from this thread
4) Insert disk: File>Drive A>Insert and then select the CP/M disk (to boot the operating system)
5) start the emulator
6) once you can see a prompt "A>" select the ummo disk
7) type 'dir' to list the directory or type 'ummo' directly to start the game.

That's the basics for almost all games. Some games can be booted directly like the CP/M boot disk (like Batman)

- how we run and play it? (a question from a newbie)
- how can we develop for PCW using cross compilers? (i'm mostly interested on Pasmo, and to extend Boriel's ZX-Basic Compiler for it)

UMMO is reviewed in this month's Retro Gamer along with an interview of the man behind FloppySoftware :)

I'm looking forward to that. I finally got it working on my 9512+ last week.
