This year so far has been very good for the Amstrad CPC, as we've seen a number of games that have been released such as Galactic Tomb, Pink Pills, Robbie Strikes Back, The Dawn of Kernel and even the incredible dungeon crawler 'The Shadows Of Sergoth'. But the Amstrad is about to get another boost in the homebrew department, as this week the #CPCRetroDev 2018 - Amstrad CPC Game Creation Contest has been announced
Exciting to see that it is announced but I haven't worked what I want to do yet, but 31st October is ages away right? I have a question about the gesture in the rules though. It mentions a gesture to Chicago's 30 in the form of a sprite but do we have to take a sprite exactly as is from the game or can we just draw an equivalent using whatever palette or perspective we like. Effectively this would be a sprite that is inspired by the game but not directly copied.

Wow! This is stunning!
Submitted with just one hour remaining and i was debugging a crashing bug in my sound code twenty minutes ago.It was epic this year The name of my game is Deeper Warrens and is inspired by Gauntlet.
Really looking forward to seeing your game. The game you wrote last year was really good.
[/size]I also have already submitted a small game in Locomotive Basic 1.0, Penalty kicks! My goal is just participation!!Good luck to all!
Thanks for all the updates! This is getting too exciting, too fast
That sounds like it was quite intense. While I didn't have a game crashing bug I certainly kept adding core features or fixing potentially game breaking bugs.
My original plan was to make no changes after midnight came and went as I kept working until 4am.
By the way WinCPCtelera remains indispensable for my process. (I probably have some more bugs/unexpected behaviour to report but I'll do that when I'm less exhausted from the project)
In the end we should aim to do our best and enjoy the game creation process while learning more that we can apply to the next time.
There appear to be a *lot* of high quality games this year!Even the games by ronaldo's students seem to have improved on previous years, both in style and execution! So exciting!
