And i just see another major bug  :'( nooooo !
There's never enough time to test properly.

I know what you mean, I'm pretty sure I have game breaking bugs but I didn't have enough time for testing to actually find them.
Previously once I've submitted a game I haven't touched the codebase again.
However as I've not really gone looking for feedback (which is probably a mistake) there hasn't been any way to receive bug reports.

Not real suspense (maybe for the order), and the question is what game will be at the 5th place.

I for one will NOT watch any video, and will carefully check and review each game on a real CPC as soon as they are available!

I agree with you! Bring on 10th November! ^_^
Anyway, the RetroDev is one of the highlights of my Retro Year! I await another month's worth of amazing games! ^_^

The name of the game is very german...  8) I'm also very curious to give it a go. There was a table football released for the C64 a few months ago:

Does anyone know how many are the games of the competition that are made only in Basic?

It is mostly a CPCTelera contest ( C + asm )

Some people are doing (i guess) 100% asm like CNG production which is way beyond the other productions (in MY opinion)

use RASM, the best assembler ever made :p

I will survive

Next year, why don't you submit a game with "acceptable scrolling", as you put it!
Otherwise, like the rest of us, why don't you enjoy the hard work people have put into the games and have fun? No?

Yes, some people are doing ASM, concretely almost everybody like last year. I think there is 1 BASIC prod and 3-4 C prods this year. The rest are all ASM productions.

Games are not much better because they are done in ASM. In fact, best #CPCRetroDev games usually include C productions even being such a few compared to total productions. Baba's Palace was made in C, so was Cris: Odd Prelude and Outlaws, and so is Jarlac, which is being projected as winner by many people this year.

Please, stop saying that CPCtelera is C + asm. CPCtelera is a framework and programmers may use it for programming in C, asm and Machine Code if they like to.

Sadly there is few with acceptable scrolling.

I wouldn't say sadly. The number of games including scroll has been steadily increasing, and also has the quality of scrolls over time. That's definitely not sad news.

Moreover, I would be probably more conservative to evaluate some scrolling as "acceptable". For me, most scrollings this year are better than acceptable. A different thing would be if we speak of "top-tech" scrolling. But I would never expect most games to include "top-tech" anything. "top-tech" features are considered top because not many people implement them.

Not sure about the order, but those are very good candidates. There is also gameplay, of course, and we don't know that just by looking at the video.

In any case, looking forward to play the games!
Released The Return of Traxtor, Golden Tail, Magica and The Dawn of Kernel for the CPC.

Hi,

I would be curious to play with Foosball, that's a nice idea and the game seems to have clean graphics and correct code.

Sure, as soon as we can use CPC6128 with discs.  ;)  Now, where's your great game? I would give it a go!  :)

Well, V-Scrolling can easily done with one or two scan lines very smooth and it doesn't take cpu time.
For H-Scrolling you still can go byte-wise (using CRTC R3) and that's also very smooth.

As shown with before (Mode 1 and Mode 0) a pixel-wise, smooth scrolling can be done very easy. And it takes nearly no cpu time. While the usual Mode-1 character soft scroll eats up resources a lot.  :)

Eh? What game? I'm not a programmer and I never claimed to be one!
I'm a games player and someone who appreciates others who spend their free-time to create games and the games they make!
