NOTE: I know there are equalization problems, transition problems, normalization problems, the volume is all over the place and the music was recorded using WinAPE and not 'real' hardware... so you don't need to tell me!

EDIT1: Equalization & normalization fixed, so it should sound a little better! Or, at least, less loud and distorted!
EDIT2: Added cue times for each tune. Eases searching for your favourite(s).

Hahaha! Downloading as we speak, gonna listen to it in the car later tonight :) :)

I hope you liked it; the speech-synth is a little cheesey but fits the MELTDOWN intro quite well! It's missing a whole load of good/famous game tunes, but like all BEST OF collections, it might be one of a long line of them! (Yep, I also hate it when an artist releases THE BEST OF... VOLUME 12! What?)

MacDeath

er.. I think some great stuff are missing on both...

=Prehistorik 2 in PLUS DMA... seriously. (and perhaps also ingame music, it is good the only ddrawback is that it restart every 10 secondes... sort of.

=Slap fight... great one.

=MagMax : great one too.

=Head over Heels : never forget CPC has the best version ever of the 8bit game...

=HATE... speccy port but hey... many loaded the game only to listen to the music.

=Jet set willy : a classic letter to Elise.

=Suicidal Tendency : the Fade to black intro from Metallica ! saddly no tunes from Suicidal Tendencies (the awesome band... ST !!! ST!!!)

=Renegade (ok, a bit too much "rockabilly") and target renegade (wow depressing gothik stuff ?)...

But a kool mix with some of the awesome tunes in Colour lines would be great too.

And perhaps many others of course...

on another notes :

Disc : On PC and ST it used realsound... but the CPC version is not bad after all...
Would be fun to port this on a proper PLUS version perhaps... :D
BTW it was a great game on 16bit, never really played it on CPC but it looked quite good (ST port for the graphics... take this, speccy ports ! French way)

BTW, as it is a big long uninterrupted tune, it may be great to put the time sequence of the various tunes...

Indeed; I also missed out Super Space Invaders, Death Wish III, Mask 3, Zap'T'Balls Advanced, Beyond The Ice Palace, Mr Heli, Xyphoe's Fantasy, Anarchy, Marauder, Nebulus, RadZone, Uridium, Out Run, Savage, Dragon Ninja, Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge, The Vindicator, Airwolf 2, Space Harrier, Silkworm, Ramparts, Eliminator, Stifflip & Co, Monty On The Run, Saboteur 2, The Human Race, The Last V8, Virgin Trans-Atlantic Balloon Challenge, Warhawk, St Dragon, Rodland, Cavemania and Captain Blood.

There's only so many great tunes you can fit within an hour or so.
But, if there's need for it, I'll do another one... VOLUME 2!

You are on the slippery slope!

Gryzor

Apologies for the delay, yes, I liked it very much :) It's still on my thumbdrive, plugged into my car stereo - there's too much in it so it's nice to listen to it again and again :)

Although it's not CPC chipmusic, I think this deserves to go here; (2006)
