Hiya,

Sorry for spamming you so much those days. I'm going in vacations now for 3 weeks so expect a very silent NoRecess from now  ;)  Still, before leaving, I'm releasing today QuickCMD v2.1 !

Changelog :

  • Correctly handles missing disc in drive for all commands
  • PUTROM command now checks for BINARY file-type/correct size and displays information about the file to be put on RAMCARD
  • DELROM command added to clear a ROM location
  • DIR (and derivatives) now correctly reports file sizes for double-sided formats (Parados 80, etc) - thank you Richard!
  • RSX command now accepts integer values (decimal and hexadecimal)
  • RSX command now accepts quote " " for string-typed values (this allows to get space characters in strings by example)
  • Internal code refactoring for smaller memory footprint

Great work. The name deserve its purpose: quick handling!

Hi norecess,

I realized in the shell a freeze of the cpc with the DIR command. My configuration is a real 6128 CPC with HxC Floppy Emulator as Drive A (no Drive B). The CAT command works without problems.
Regards.

Me too, have had freezes with DIR command.

Hi,

On the 50+ discs I tested in the end I did not have any issues.

Please could you point me out the corresponding DSK or HFE files that makes QuickCMD crash? (PM, email, download link, whatever)

Thank you a million !

ps. I'm in vacations for real so expect a clear reduction in my support for the 3 coming weeks.. :)

Thank you both Hal & Redbox. But please, and this is important, could you give me or point me out the DSKs that makes QuickCMD fails ? Today is raining  :)

Sorry, was using version 2.0 when it happened - works fine now with version 2.1  :)

Something I did see is if you do a DIR with a disc that uses ASCII codes to display different text to the file-listing then it lists the files and then does the ASCII stuff afterwards as well.  Try it with the Sappy DSK image and you'll see what I mean.  Any way of fixing this?

norecess

Oh yes, I understand. All v2.0 users should definitively upgrade to v2.1, since all disc errors are now correctly handled. This is especially important when using a HxC Floppy Emulator device, since switching discs takes few seconds to the device to "adapt" (cf. detect new disc format and switch to it). Details : because QuickCMD is so awesome and fast to use ( ;D ) pressing the HxC's "next slot" button then TAB key (DIR command) does not give enough time to adapt. Under BASIC, you will get the message Retry Ignore or Cancel for that purpose.

Ah yeah this is a good catch for the CATART stuff. I will check against the Sappy DSK.

Let me know if you have issues with V2.1. To this day, to major problems related so far ;)
