Obviously Overdrive2 won the two Meteoriks where Amstraders "competed".

Despite the distance I can even hear Overflow's manly tears into my heart as he went out of the hall in search for a curry wurst and a margharita.
(ok perhaps not)

Still a moral victory as the host had to justify why Logon's Run didn't win.

Allez OliverFlow, on est avec toi, tu feras encore mieux la prochaine fois.
;)

Félicitations à Krusty pour son discours et sa coupe capillaire bien propre.

Has anybody an idea where everyone is sitting. I see no blue screens when looking at the main hall camera footage. Usually the French cluster together and there's a lot of blue screens in one spot.
Kanga should easily be visible while Octoate has lost so much weight that even Paper Mario looks fat.

Also, what can we expect this year? NoRecess is said to come from Canada this year. Chances are that he has something to show off, right? And the others?

Ah, different camera, better view. I can just make out a few revealing blue screens on the right and left. It seems everybody sits at mostly the same places as every year.

Also, what can we expect this year?

- demo oldschool compo: we (Condense) are all set for the compo ! I'm currently uploading for Youtube (still private). Once the demo will get shown on screen, 1-2 hours later it will be available on Youtube & Pouet.
- intro oldschool compo: Vanity's prod also ready for the compo !
- graphics oldschool compo: Beb & Ced are releasing a bitmap. In the case of Ced, it will be a one-day work :P

The party is super fun and lots of incredible people are there ! Here attached a picture of the Amstrad place at Revision, sorry not all CPCs/people are visible (yet) but there are some :)

Great looking demos, thanks !

mr_lou

...started in 2013, finished i 2018.... ?

So it took 5 years to create?

....I can relate....  8)

BSC

CPC is already ruling the top-of-the-month.
** My SID player/tracker AYAY Kaeppttn! on github **  Some CPC music and experiments ** Other music ** More music on scenestream (former nectarine) ** Some shaders ** Some Soundtrakker tunes ** Some tunes in Javascript

My hardware: ** Schneider CPC 464 with colour screen, 64k extension, 3" and 5,25 drives and more ** Amstrad CPC 6128 with M4 board, GreaseWeazle.

Duke

Finally got a chance to rewatch both demos.

Phx
What a masterpiece, everything is just so well polished, beutiful, trimmed and timed!
Reading the making of, makes you realize how much dedication and work effort, is needed to create something like this.
In my top 3 of CPC demos now !

Onescreen Colonies
Kick ass effects as usual. Ace !

Amstrad CPC still shining in 2018 :)

thx Octoate for all those videos year after years...

Just told my wife that I'm not available this evening. Need to celebrate those great releases but first have to dig out my 6128 with CRTC 1. Thanx guys!  8)

That's not true... ok... maybe... I am just doing to much sports nowadays I guess :D.
I also participated in the "5k running compo" on saturday and had to drink a pepper schnapps and a beer in the middle of the run... Waaahhhh...

TBH: this years Revision is awesome and great fun again. Thanks to all the participants and sceners who are here. I am also happy very happy to be mentioned in the oldskool demo by Moods Plateau :D - one of the very, very, very few demos for the KC85.

Np! I like the videos where you can hear the reactions of the audience and also like to watch them - so if I am on a party and a demo / intro will be shown, I will try to record it.

That was the reason why I finally attended to those meetings - if I am already watching the streams for the whole night, I can also visit the party  ;).

you know you can edit your posts so no need to post multiple times...

:D

Just saw the Oldskool graphix that I missed today.

Great "improvised on the spot" graph from CED.

Awesome Graph from BEB.

Many great comments in the live.

Still the 2 last "Amiga" graphs sure are nice, the one from MADE is a clear podium contender, the dragon may be also a serious contestant. Amiga sure has quite some advantages on the CPC but hey...

Can just hope for the Amstradists to complete all podiums they ran for.

Where may we find the Amstrad graphix compos ?

Those are dirty screenshots from twitch, just so you can wait.

I think it's cool! 8) I love the tribute to Elevated in the second part as well. I knew the music was familiar and it took me a moment to work out what it was! :-[

MaV

Right, since my wife and I bought Revision party support tickets, I can vote for the party compos as well  ... and I just did!  8)

The Revision was just a fantastic event as usual!
So cool to meet you all again, plus the legends from the past like Longshot :) I wonder if it's already the largest cpc meeting now? The party itself was very very full this year. Hope the best for the cpc entries tomorrow! So sad that it's now nearly over again :(

This begs the question, is Longshot still what he is or can he be called Short-missfire these days..?
(yeah this joke is terrible and I should feel ashamed) :picard:

Can't wait for the reports and photos from you guys.

Found the pictures from Demozoo.
POUET don't do graphics, Demozoo do.

And they are gorgeous.

I listened to the Live stream hosts (Truck and consorts) and they talked about the Amstrad CPC... they said that CPC came somewhat out of nowhere to be a strong presence at Revision...
PRe-Revision, there was no generic oldskool, so beside C64 and Amiga you could go for Wild with other 8bit system, so no prods were released on CPC.

Truck aknowledged that Vanity came here and really released regularly things and came to Revision to show things and hold the flame.

Fact i there is a renaissance of CPC scene in everyway (it never quite died anywau) that may be tracked back to FromScratch release (and Pheelone, starting/continuing the rivalry we could see this year at Revision2018) IMHO.

BATMAN BEGINS despite all its success was mostly a catalist and some sort of a one-shot, yet it electrochocked the Amstradists and really, a nice gain in power and visibility occured since, with Demos despite not being as numerous as in other scenes (EX, C64...) having some high level of refinement, quality and eyes-bursting effects.

To me what was blatent this year :
>> the clash between CPC well used palette and the usual C64 palette.
We Come in Peace was nice, and came jsut after phX. Some effects were really comparable actually, others were very machine classics/specifics, yet we could appreciate that the regular C64 palette lacked the luster of the colourful CPC in some ways on some of those effects.
The horizontal tunnel (somewhat done by FlowerCorps on LUS at Revision) was all grea and shistain hues. the diagonal one lacked the hue gradiants, the sprites may get blurred/drawned by background using the same colours (due to limitations).
Also some effects on CPC have large huge gradiant as background, c64 had blemmish mono-Grey as background.
Also to see the border. when border and background are same colour in order to "hide" it, but the sprites/animation would still spot the border... this looks strange jsut after a fullscreen colourfull madness on CPC.
and really... C64 has sometimes nice SID sounds, it is good to have animated things such as disco balls or overlayed sprites, but border and greyish colours really are a let down in the end.

>> 2 CPC groups went to Revision to clash together and really fight for the win.
This aknowledges Revision as a real Amstrad event.
With both groups in different categories (Graphics, intro and demo) with real chances for podiums.

can't wait for the results, good lucks dudes.

arnoldemu

I booted both demos on my cpc6128 which has a gotek with flash floppy and connected to a tft television via scart cable.

Sadly the tv didn't do the demos justice. (it doesn't really do any demos or games justice to be honest)

* First it showed the leftmost column which cpc monitors hide behind the bevel, so I saw some pixels that the authors didn't intend me to see.
* The pixels in phx were a bit too clean, with less blending of colours  so some of the clever pixel dither was not as nice as it should be. Some dithers it just ruined and were hard to look at.
* And it didn't like the horizontal rupture in the first part of Onescreen Colonies  :'( I saw a black screen until the arkanoid inspired part came on.

So I couldn't watch them completely on a real cpc.

It is sad that some people like me will see them this way and will not enjoy them exactly as designed :(

Thank goodness for good youtube videos.
