Have a look at the following auction ended earlier today.

Still there are people "out there" who thinks old computers only represents junk. Valuable junk, I think 


782,76 EUR that's probably more than the seller ever expected, I think.


Any ideas on what's has been driving up the price ? ? ?

I know disk based CPC games can go for stupid prices... I know some of these are reasonably rare... I know some are very rare... but €700 on cpc games?


I wish I had that much money to spend on "old rubbish" (as the mrs calls it)

IMHO there it not one single rare game in that compilation. Except some cartridges for the Plus, there are no rare games. The CPC was sold in millions, and games in hundredthousands. So rare games you will find for the Joyce f. e. - but they don't make much money.

Well, a handful of semi-rare titles and some quite rare, but definitely boring and uninteresting ones. Can't see how it'd justify such a price... :6

There are a few games from Lankhor and Ere Informatique in that auction, and I know they are quite collectible among French CPC fans. I also notice a copy of Renaud, which always sells for silly money (as shown by this eBay auction). Corruption and Pirates! are also very rare and collectible.

I expected this lot of games to sell for a few hundred euro, but not for nearly €800!

Well, I would not be surprised that it is a fake auction, as none of these titles are very uncommons.  Ok, there are some french adventure games and they are all disk versions, but to me, there is no real reason for this price. Maybe Bill Gates is interested in CPC collecting now :-)).
