Hello boys and girls

There's a new kickstarter campaign about an art book covering people doing pixel art images on 8bit computers. I figure the majority of content comes from the C64, although there's mention of other formats and I know there's at least a few pages about the CPC since Made and I are in the artists list.

So, there you have it. Interested? Goto linky: The Masters of Pixel Art - VOLUME 2 by Klas Benjaminsson — Kickstarter

Nice and very interesting.

(By the way: They are talking about "exotic low-end" computer (Amstrad CPC, Spectrum etc.). Sounds funny.

IMHO we got enough pixel art on CPC to fill a few books.  :P :) :)

Low end? That's clearly the c64, even it's users are "abgerissen mit Löchern in der Hose. Und CD's klauen die auch.". My personal impression only.

Actually, there's no claim about "the Amstrad and the Spectrum being lowend in comparison tou the C64".

This book is the second one in a series. The first book was about pixelart done on 16bit home computers. This second book is about pixelart on lowend home computers (in comparison to the first book theme).

Among these lowend computers covered in this book is the C64 and even some "exotic" computers like the CPC or the Speccy.

While the term "exotic" (meaning "relatively unknown" in this case) is debatable, it is a fact that in central/northern european demoscene they mostly know the C64 followed by the Plus4 (obviously there's the brand and some graphics tech relation to the C64) and Atari 8bit.

So, there's really no "format war" here.

The project is succesfully funded and updated with yet another CPC entry: Beb!  :)

Was it any good? Though, with the c64 taking up 81% and a further 4.4% going to the Plus/4 I don't know why they even bothered with other machines...

But... I just bumped it yesterday :D
