A great adventure game for the speecy. Give it a try on a real machine or an emulator.

Damn, the Speccy scene if too much active to my tastes compaired to amstrad's one.

(ok, some speccies were actually released by Amstrad... still)

Perhaps I should launch my Speccy+2 one day, after all...

TFM

Ah no, it's only this forum. We constantly get flodded with their stuff. And even if it has a Z80, we won't turn away of the CPC.  ;)

Mi first computer was the CPC, but the first computer in wich I played a game was a 48k speccy, later the C64 and finally my Amstrad, so I have good memories of all the 8 bit platforms  ;D

TFM

I wished I could share them. Im my youth it was the war between the systems. But with Atari 800 XL we got along. There were no Speccies. Only Odiesofts brother Odin got one, that's the only one I know who had one back the day.

I had no idea that the 8 bit Ataris existed until I saw them on the internet in the 2000s. I only remember seeing ads on magazines for the XE console wich I had no idea that it was really an 8bits atari without the keyboard.

I love the redesign they did with the black keys and the metal keys on the side.  ;D

Yeah, good old English and spanish shames : the speccy ports...
Now we still get the speccy flood at CPCwiki.
>:(

Nah, joking as usual...
Those speccy prods are quite impressive considering the machione's purely graphical limitations...
An todays speccy ports are not as bad as they used to be.

Neil79

Us Amstrad users could seriously do with a good homebrew platformer!

The programmer have the intention of making a CPC version of Pentacorn, but that's a long term project.

Really? Very good news! Is he planning to use CPCRSLIB?

McKlain

Sorry, no idea about how he plans to do it. I only know that the music is already done  ;D

Eactly. What I really REALLY want is to port Pentacorn to CPC... :) But as McKlain said, its a long term proyect.

TFM

It looks pretty good on the Speccy! For CPC one could use Mode 1. Shouldn't be that big of a problem. Good luck!  :)

Sykobee (Briggsy)

Yeah, this game benefits from the detail, so MODE 1 with some clever stippling and palette changes between screens would work well.

arnoldemu

I think if there was a CPC version of the Churrera engine, then more mojon twins games would come to CPC easily. At a minimum converting the graphics and recolouring them as appropiate (mode 0 or mode 1).

Its certainly a pretty game for a speccy. We certainly need more of this on the CPC. Well done to the developers and I hope you bring us this game soon. IS it written in z80 or C?

Nightwolf

Just registered, so hi!

It uses z88dk10, as asm code on some parts. Source code will be available pretty soon. Of course if anyone want to port it, he is indeed welcome!, but I really want to do it, with the help if SyX when possible. Because I want more games from churrera to CPC, as the churrera itself. Its a great framework! But since mode 1 uses so few colours, I hope to use Mode0. For sure, that's meant to lose some details, but surely game will gain lots of colour. And I really love it :)

TFM

Sounds great, but let SyX please finish the ACMEDOS first. IMHO that's way more important.  :)

Welcome to the wiki Nightwolf. We're a friendly lot here on the CPC, and we're short of great new games too.

I've always wondered why the supply of games from Mojon Twins dried up suddenly a few years ago. I've long suspected it was because of the negative reaction to their later games (they were too formulaic and too similar to their previous games, and the MODE 1 graphics lacked colour). I hope this isn't the case and we will see some more CPC versions of their games.
