Unify/Quigs (ex-SymStudio)
« on: 00:37, 10 September 16 »
Hi

Sorry for bring up this topic out of nowhere... But it got me thinking... the recent Wifi/internet support on symbos (along mass storage devices), will need a lot of  written stuff for symbos, especially multiplayer games as a CHESS game!!  ;D i'll LOVE to play with a friend of mine and our CPC's...

When will Unify be released to the people and then start writing software for symbos?

Now it's needed more than ever!!

I hope to have the first Quigs release out this year. Obviously Edo is working with it already with Unify, so nothing is stopping other people working with it, although its not a complete project, is buggy and I know Edo has had to work around a lot of the missing features.

Hi Trebmint, why not make a public beta release?

if you don't want support for the beta just for not have a lot of extra work, make it a "no questions beta" version!.

I dont really think its solid enough to call it a release. If somebody wants to try it on the understanding that the new version will be going to be 10x more solid, faster etc etc then I'm happy for them to use it. The reason Edo has been able to create so much is partly as I've written code he's needed to progress, but mostly because he's been willing to work around the problems.
Personally I'd wait until the new compiler is complete which I hope is before the end of the year

Oh so much time!  :( , patience... keep calm!!

I'm sure that with a working compiler/IDE Symbos will boost the number of application and users!!

Ok, take the time you need  ;)

I think a multiplayer chess game (human vs human) is probably possible with the current release of unify. Indeed there are some issues.

but a lot of things are working very well. At least you are already able to make small simple network games. Like I did with snake and battleship.
