Amstrad CPC hardware / Re: USB power supply for CPC/PLUS
« Last post by Bryce on 09:27, 14 June 19 »
Thanks for your insight, Bryce! I’ve got one of those as I was planning to make a psu for my 1541-II, but now I’m having second thoughts.

Would it help if the missing components were added?

Yes, you could easily add the components again and improve the situation. The only slight difficulty would be the inductors, as the value of these is quite critical, so you'd have to do a lot of measurements and maths to choose the right part. All the other parts don't have critical values (caps) or the part number is known (Diodes).

Please, can you sell me one? :)

Sure, if you have a cable already its 4 euro + 4 euro shipping.

I would also be interested in a couple of such adapters!

Same if you have cables already, I can set you up with some.

PM me for your needs.

Right now I am having difficulties getting new supplies of Centronics connectors at a reasonable price.

  • 20190526 -- minor patch fixing a bug in autorun mode: opening menus and switching windows cancelled the automatic keyboard.
  • 20190524 -- tenth public release. Added support for CDT/TZX file blocks 0x24 and 0x25 (loop start and ending) (cfr. BATMAN.TZX), fixed bugs in the handling of weak sectors in DSK files (cfr. "Titus Classiques"), YM file
Today I decided what to use for MP3 RSX commands, that should be:

MP3XPLAY,folder(1-99), song(1-99)

Playing with BASIC and using outs, I think best to use Lambdaspeak in default mode most of the time but switch to mp3 very briefly then back to control it, so there isn't any complicated stuff happening.

If it isn't too difficult, put the following... note: i am yet to try 999 to see if we can in fact play 999 tracks. but... my suggestion

the songlength provided so you can work out when to start fading out, since the CPC isn't really playing mp3.  However, I would think there needs to be a little smarts to know if speech is playing already at the time an interrupt comes in (if speech is the main mode).  Wait for speech buffer to be filled (can speak asyncrhonously too)

Otherwise, may be I can buy a 16L8 on Ebay and use my Eprom programmer. I've found some code related to the 40031 on CPCwiki.
Do you think that would be a good solution?

Yay after some fiddling with the slot on the end of the shaft and microscopic adjustments, I have a working eme 150a. Thanks for the heads up @Bryce. Not sure what that screw slot does but it's working again.

Spinning a fraction fast but it works!

Only have 40025 I think, but I will take a look this weekend. Else, you should use an EPROM to do the job... Or using an external romboard if useful for other usages.
40031 is the PAL ;)
