Title: CQM Filetype
Post by: ComSoft6128 on 19:24, 20 November 17
Hi All,

Looking thru a 3.5" disc I found at the weekend, I found it was full of CPM software.
However some of the files have CQM not COM as the filetype. I assume this indicates that they are compressed files.

Does anyone know what utility I would use to return them to COM files?

Thanks,

Peter

Yes, they are compressed.

Either via use of the stand-alone utilities SQ and USQ, or via use of the NSWP general utility which allows files to be tagged from a list, and then squeezed or unsqu.   There are prob some other utils which use the same Huffman compression, but these are the ones I'm familiar with.

I would highly recommend NSWP, because of the other things you can do as well.

Thanks Geoff,

I will look for thru the disc at the weekend to see if I have SQ/USQ. Pretty sure I have NSWP somewhere.

Cheers,

Peter
