I am playin Fruity Frank using WinApe. But the controls of the game are not suitable for me and I couldn't change them no matter what I do. Is there anyone who can help me achieve this? Your help is very appreciated. PS: I can read/write program code and I am open to editing the code of the game as well, I  just dont know how to do it with ROM of the game being the only thing I have right now.

If you're using WinApe, why not just select to use joystick for controls then? Not sure which keys WinApe has mapped to joystick input, but I imagine you can probably remap them as you like if you want.

Since I'm running Linux myself I don't use WinApe, but my guess is that joystick input is mapped to the arrow keys.

Joystick in WinAPE uses the numeric keypad with NUMLOCK off.

Thank you for your answers. Unfortunately I am not playing with joystick so well, it would be so nice if I could only use the directions keys of the keyboard  :-[  Actually I already use linux, windows is basically for games.  In linux, how can i play the game and can I change the keys there?

If you go into the Settings menu in WinAPE then select Input you can change the keys. Its handy you can have different mappings with NUMLOCK on/off so all you got to do to turn on the alternate mappings is to press NUMLOCK.

I dont understand how to map keys with this? So fruity frank has 4 direction keys and one key for shoot the ball, what am I suppose to do here? Under "With Num Lock On" there are only 3 keys?

Click on a key on the keyboard image on that screen, for example Joystick 0 Up. Then, on the first box for Numlock Off, select Cursor Up (or whatever key you want to use for Up - these are the PC keys). Repeat for the rest of the directions and Fire. Save it, Then when you turn Numlock off it will use your selected keys in place of the joystick.

EgoTrip I thank you so much, I finally did it like you've mentioned. Thanks again.  :)
