Black screen in WinAPE 2.0b2

Hi all,


I'm new to the forum, and new to WinApe. On my last laptop I used to Caprice32 to emulate the CPC464, but I can't seem to make it work on my new (Windows 10 Home) laptop.


I've downloaded WinApe, but whenever I open the program I'm just getting a black screen. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I've got to say, I'm hopeless with emulators, pretty much with computers in general, so you may need to really spell this out for me!

Did you check your configuration? Are the ROMs all there?

It could be a graphics problem.
I've just tested it on a win10 VM and it works ok for me.
Try disabling 'Direct X stretch' in the display settings, also see if Full screen mode works (Press F10)

If your roms are in the wrong place, winape should be popping up an error message - As Gryzor said, that will give you a black screen, when you extracted the files, some of them should be in a ROM folder
