Title: More than one expansion?
Post by: chinnyhill10 on 14:06, 08 September 18
Back in the day every expansion card I had for my CPC had a pass through so I could daisy chain them. However none of the modern cards available seem to come with this. So I can't have my M4 and Multiface clone plugged in at the same time.

Has someone overcome this? Say an expansion card that then you can plug in several cards to? Like a Rombox for cards?

Cheers.

Have you been in a cave for the last few years? :D The MX4 is what you need.

Never heard of it. And I'm someone who keeps my ear fairly close to the ground with the CPC.

Then get your head off the ground and search for MX4 in the forum :) Or just go here: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/forum/amstrad-cpc-hardware/mother-x4-board/

Have ordered up a Lambda Board. Will let everyone know how I get on with it as word certainly isn't out that you can get such functionality. Spoken to a couple of users who are just unplugging devices every time they want to use something different. People simply don't seem to know and I certainly didn't!

Agreed.
What is required is an area on the the board which gives a brief summary of all the peripherals still available for the CPC. This should include a description (including photos) of each product, links to the various threads, pricing and contact details. I will contact Gryzor and see if something can be worked out, I should have some free time over the next few weeks that I can use for this.

Cheers,

Peter

Did we discuss it after all? Apologies, I don't remember. But I'm fairly certain there are a couple of entry points over at that www.cpcwiki.eu site that'd be really suited to the task!

Well, I use two Mother X4 (8 cards) and after them the Dobbertin HD20 harddisc, finally terminated by the Vortex F1-D Floppy. Makes 10 and works.

With external / additional PSU fed into Mother X4?
I'd love to see a picture of that...

Yes, of course, it got a 5 V, 4 A PSU.  :)  Picture will follow some day, but at the moment I'm packing for the Retropulsiv 12 meeting tomorrow.  :) :) :)

Hi there. Here is my Rattenschwanz: Vortex F1-D, HD20, 7x cards on Mother X4 (PlayCity resides on Amsdap meanwhile with 4 MB RAM and M4 board).

Honestly.... the Vortex F1-D and the X-MEM don't cooperate that easy. Since the Vortex controller ROM gets decoded in real-time. It's not enough to put a Vortex ROM into the X-MEM. But I found a work around.
