Title: Quick Question about connector NAME/Type
Post by: Chinnery on 15:55, 02 July 18
Just a quick question about the NAME of a connector.

What is the type/name of CP07 on the 464Plus, which connects the tape drive to the motherboard?

I'm looking at building a wee peripheral that sits between tape drive and CPC and would rather not cut the existing wire.

Ive done some basic searching but, in all honesty don't really know where to start.

There were two different types used. The white version is a standard 2.54mm pitch header, the black one is some sort of special connector that I've only ever seen in a CPC. Luckily they both have the same footprint and pinout, so if you are looking to experiment around this area, it's probably easier to remove the black version and replace both sides with a standard 2.54 header which is available in all sorts of variations.

Bryce.
