Have you any info about your Analogue joypad that you can share with us? A schematic perhaps, then we can tell you what it would take to get it working on a CPC+

Maybe this can work :).

spot on. I'm going to bid for it. Please everyone let me have it for 0.99p ;)
I'll then test it with my CPC+ and if it works fine, I'll write some code to use it in a new game..

A question for you before you buy anything, do the GX4000 use standard serial PC joysticks?

Bryce

That discussion has been going on for quite a while. Although the CPC+ joystick pinout is similar to the PC joystick pinout, the 5V and 0V pins are swapped (PC has 5V to the x and Y Pots, the CPC has 0V), they should work however as long as you disconnect any additional circuitry such as autofire in the PC joystick.

Here's one from Schneider on the German Eeeebay which should also be no problem to convert if required.

Bryce.

Really "Der letzte" ? (The last)
I am sure this guy asked the whole world if all other Schneider Joysticks had been burned on the last witch burning... :D :D :D :D

Edit:

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and what is with the other 194.653.312 he has?

Don't you remember that phonecall you got in the middle of the night, where a strange person asked whether you happened to own an analogue Joystick from Schneider? That was him checking!!!
I'm sure he wouldn't claim that if he wasn't 100% sure. I mean it's on the interweb, so it must be true! And if you read the Eeeeebay agb §4037a (Page 12.408), you'll see that "Blatantly lying about the item you are selling is not a very nice thing to do", so that rules out any chance of his statement being incorrect. So get it while you still can!

THIS is exactly the anal joy I have working on my CPC Plus!
great. I've put in a bid.

I'm already planning a game for cpc+ which will use the analogue joystick.
I'll test it and if the response is good, then it may be suited for my game idea.
Otherwise I'll do another game... but anyway I'll write some functions and write a game to support it :)

Would be sweet...
I'll check while at retro Madrid if I can find some compatible anal Joy too...(alongside a SpeedKing.)

I'll also see with local "Hardwarer" if we can achieve some converters or rewire...or even a Y-Doubler (usefull for possible 4 players games...such as a Bomberman...)

I'll bring my Sega Master system PHAZER too to turn it GX4000 compatible...

great. I've put in a bid.

Hope you get it, it was cheap loooong time ago. To test it, you can try it with FutureOS for CPC Plus. Sorry for only providing a german version, nobody was interested in english or french for it up to now.

Emulators?

Or everybody who owns a Plus ;-)
Shouldn't be a problem to get a cheap PC analogue joystick.

However, I'm really looking forward for your game :-)))

I think I saw one on eBay so I'll probably hit it, but how many actually have them? Not much demand... And how many PC analog joystics (NOT USB) are there?

Today I found an old PC joystick and tested it with the Arnold Diagnostic cartridge and - it works fine :). The values of the x-axis are between 0 and 0x3F and on the y-axis between 0 and 0x38. There is only a text on the top of the joystick: "Rockfire" - maybe this is the manufacturer!? I attached an image of this old analogue joystick to this posting.

EDIT: Ok, it is the manufacturer - http://www.rockfire.com.tw

With the right joystick y reaches &3F too ;-)
May you can adjust it.

Whew, you can run code on the cpc plus? Then how are chances that you have a multimeter? Would be nice to know the potentiometer values (in ohms) on the three "boundaries" at ADC values 00h/01h, and 1Fh/20h, and 3Eh,3Fh.
