Hi, I've a problem with my CPC 464 plus and I need a little help from this wonderful comunity. When I turn on my CPC 464 plus, the screen become purple. The problem occurred when I'd accidentally set the power supply voltage to 12volts. So I opened the computer and the first thing I noticed was that both ram become very hot istantly. Could I proceed with the replacement of the ram or should I look at something else first, eg. faulty resistors or capacitors?

thanks a lot,
WiZkiD

Hi Wizkid72,
the first thing you should do (other than registering yourself in our Forum :) ) is remove the two RAMs and then measure how much current the CPC pulls when turned on. Unfortunately 12V may have fried quite a bit inside the CPC. Almost everything is replaceable except the ASIC, so if it's fried, you've got yourself an ex-CPC unfortunately and there's no point in buying new RAMs for it then.

Bryce.
